I am feeling discouraged and melancholy about this. I voted for Donald Trump in the election during 2016 and I don't necessarily like him, but I liked him more than Hillary and the other Democrats. I can't go anywhere to discuss without seeing a group of people who suggest or outright smear the President and more right wing political opinions in general. Even in places now that are supposedly "loving, Christian" sites like on here, go figure. You guys also have left-wing Christians who even say similar things about the right to other kinds of left people. Well, I'm personally secular in my reasoning anyway.

I just want to talk to people without it being suggested that I'm a bigot or unpleasant person.

Trump has definitely earned the majority of the criticism he receives. He reaps what he sows.

Trump's most notable insults

Trump's Long History of Racism

All False statements involving Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s Long Record of Degrading Women

A quick guide to the people and groups Donald Trump has insulted

A running list of all the worst things Donald Trump has said about women. It’s long.

And unfortunately, his conservative Christians supporters are being harshly criticized for supporting him and that's been a very poor reflection on the Christian faith and witness. There has been a lot of negative reactions to his supporters' unwavering devotion toward him and it seems to have really marred Evangelical Christianity in the process. There have been numerous articles with very critical content like "the great Evangelical compromise," "Evangelicals abandon their principles," "Evangelical convictions for sell," and other articles like the following: Trump-Loving Christians Owe Bill Clinton an Apology and Evangelicals slammed Bill Clinton's sexual misconduct. So why does Trump get a pass?

Yes there appears to be a move to discriminate against Trump by some of the media and it's followers. I find this to be strange as I don't really see anything catastrophic from his presidency. Just a lot of bashing. I think the bible speaks out against such behavior, like we are supposed to be subject to our rulers, against hate gossip, Romans gets into it a little, but covers a broad topic of evil:

Romans 1:29-30

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

I personally didn't vote for Trump, but I am shocked at the hate gossip thrown his way :(

It's hilarious isn't it? "Election's over, let's all go home and play with the dog" just doesn't cut it anymore. I feel bad laughing at other people's misery, but if that misery only exists inside of their heads is it so bad?

I saw a woman on television the other night who said that since Trump was elected she has to see a therapist. The first thing I thought was "if you need to see a therapist just because an election didn't go your way you need to see a therapist".

Well I was actually trying to help discourage backbiting (hate gossip) but sure:

back·bit·ing
/ˈbakˌbīdiNG/
noun
noun: backbiting; noun: back-biting
malicious talk about someone who is not present.

I must say that is truly an ironic statement considering how we're talking about Trump. Many people, Christians in particular, voted for him despite the fact that he insults and mocks people (alive or dead) that he doesn't like. He says things like: (1) "Knock the crap out of them and I'll pay your legal fees!" (source), (2) suggesting the "Second Amendment People" could act against Hillary if she got elected (source), (3) using vulgar language to describe how he would sexually grope multiple women, and (4) all the insults and mockery toward other people he has continuously spewed out of his mouth.

He deserves most of the criticism he gets. I get your point about Clinton; somehow I think they nominated the only candidate Trump could beat because she has a whole wheelbarrow of her own negative characteristics. So we're stuck with a bad President until next election. Hopefully somehow the Republicans will nominate someone else and the Democrats will find their way back toward the center a bit and we can all seek a positive choice in the next cycle.

Thanks for informing me about his behaviors. I think also it's important for us as Christians not to use evil as an excuse to do something the bible discourages. Like Christ taught about he who is without sin cast the first stone. When Jesus came to earth he changed all the rules and taught is a turn the other cheek sort of way (Matthew 5:38-48). If offended then we shouldn't speak ill things about them. But that's a Christian morality issue which may or may not be on topic.

It's ironic to hear someone being chastised for "backbiting" Trump when he's notorious for insulting, mocking and bullying people he doesn't like, which includes people who are either alive or dead.

Sorry to hear about your troubles VCR, I think it is becoming more and more common, our country is so politically divided, the lines have never been more clear to me. Sorry if you missed the video I posted, I edited this post because well, I am a bit paranoid, trying to learn from the past. Anyway, you're not alone.

Here's a video you should enjoy, it is a parody of the Democrat party, and it is epic!

The video you posted immediately reminded me of this video about Republicans. It's a parody too.

And I honestly can't take anyone seriously who attempts to take a political potshot at Democrats when they write DEMOCRAT PARTY instead of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, which is the party's correct name.

As long as Trump keeps it up, as I'm sure he will, there will always be people who won't tolerate his immoral and unchristian behavior and will continue to call him out, and call out his supporters.

Look at all the people being nasty with VCR, way to prove his point.

Regardless of if you approve or Trump or not, the bible says to pray for our leaders. I wonder if christians on here spend more time hating or praying for Trump?

I thought this was an advertisement for certain "branches" of institutional Christianity.
