Well, I do not approve of SNL when they make fun of him or others, but I doubt that anything can be done about it.

Fair enough. But it was definitely touted by the left once he gained a certain amount of popularity.correction: the fairness doctrine predates Limbaugh, not the other way around.

I know. But in 93 or so, the Dems tried bringing it back.
The beginning of Limbaugh's national show almost coincided with the elimination of the fairness doctrine in the late 80s.Fair enough. But it was definitely touted by the left once he gained a certain amount of popularity.
Maybe if it hadn’t been repealed or had been reinstated we wouldn’t have the silos of news we have now. Political dialogue might actually be improved.I know. But in 93 or so, the Dems tried bringing it back.
Please, do go on about just how important this particular battle is for the right. I need a good laugh today.
Yeah.... Trump is an "everyman".
That's almost as good as an SNL skit!
Aren't we all just billionaires living in golden sky palaces just waiting be elected leaders of the most powerful nation in the history of the Earth? I know I'm just waiting to meet the age requirements to run.
President Trump needs a safe space.
It was a good idea at the time. But with the vast media outlets we have now, it’s not necessary.Maybe if it hadn’t been repealed or had been reinstated we wouldn’t have the silos of news we have now. Political dialogue might actually be improved.
Freedom of expression does not mean freedom of consequence. “You’re fired!”Get behind Rosanne Barr, another Republican crucified for their political affiliation. Nothing will happen to SNL unless they turn their wrath on the Dems.
Everyman???????? ROFLOL. That’s the Funniest thing I’ve heard in months! Keep bringing it! There’s a comedy club with open mike night near you! Many people, left and right, have always wanted an "everyman" sort of guy in the White House and that is what we got.
What do you propose be done?Well, I do not approve of SNL when they make fun of him or others, but I doubt that anything can be done about it.
SNL is important? How long do you think it takes to point out something obvious that everyone on the right has noticed for years?
Do you think he sat down and spent a couple hours meticulously drafting that statement?
No, he did exactly what Pres. Donald Trump does: he pointed out something important that people often don't acknowledge and criticized the people involved, shooting from the hip.
That's partly why I voted for him -- and partly why many people I know voted for him.
Many people, left and right, have always wanted an "everyman" sort of guy in the White House and that is what we got.
Go to YouTube and search for SNL Bill Clinton or other Dems. I'm not suggesting you watch them though.Get behind Rosanne Barr, another Republican crucified for their political affiliation. Nothing will happen to SNL unless they turn their wrath on the Dems.
I very rarely ever watch the show, so I have no proposal re: it.What do you propose be done?
Didn’t he call for something formal (charges or investigation) already? What do “retribution” and “look into” refer to? And how can anyone who indulges in Fox News the way he does complain of a network being biased? He’s a wannabe dictator. He doesn’t care about bias or fairness in the media, he just wants retribution on anyone who mocks him or stands in his way. Here is the actual quotation from the article:
Is this the President calling for a legal investigation into SNL? No.
It's a President that is suggesting that various networks routinely broadcast anti-Republican, anti-Conservative messages, and have zero balance. He suggests it is unfair that companies that use public airwaves to present a single persepctive that is unviersally anti-Conservative are doing something that is unfair and that there ought to be some sort of consequences.
Is this a move against free speech? No. Is there an explicit call for an investigation? No. It's pointing out a trend.
It's uncharitable and a distortion of the President's words to suggest otherwise.
