It used to be that if someone said they were Christian -- it was not kosher for someone to tell 'em they were not a Christian.

There are non-Trinitarian Christians -- like Oneness Pentecostals -- imo they are WRONG about the Trinity (or lack of it); but I would not call them "not a Christian"

I never encounter JW's

Jane and a few others here are the only Mormons I ever encounter; I don't agree with CF's rules that LDS be treated as a different religion; but I'm not in charge

Whether or not they're Christians is up for debate- even us Catholics don't seem to be considered Christian here, since we have to ask for permission to post in the "Christians-only" sections of the forum.

Not cool, dude. :expressionless:

Not true. Catholics have always been fully welcome here at CF.

I was unaware of that rule. I'm sorry-- that hurts. No one should ever disregard your love of Christ.

Welcome, sure- but I wasn't able to post in a forum section "For Christians only", and found I would have to post somewhere to ask for permission to do so. Welcome isn't the same thing.

Anyways, they probably don't have a subforum because their doesn't seem to be a large enough number of them to justify having them- but, again, their "Christianity" is up for debate anyways.
Again, we used to. And it was pretty active. Now that that the rules have changed (being branded "nonChristian", forbidden from most of the board, told to "repent" for loving Christ, etc), pretty much everyone has left.

While I personally don't know much about Mormonism I will reply to this by pointing out the Salvation Army subforum. I am a soldier and I think I've seen maybe three fellow TSA members here. So I don't think the size of population is the issue here.

Welcome, sure- but I wasn't able to post in a forum section "For Christians only"

Apart from a brief period of chaos (which CF still hasn't recovered from), the Nicene Creed has always been CF's guideline for who is a Christian.

Back in the day, there also used to be a set of guidelines on anti-Catholic things that couldn't be said. And indeed, over the years, nastiness experienced by Catholics on CF has mostly been from other Catholics. OBOB has been quite fierce at times.

The most recent tightening up of the rules were the result of a lot of aggressive anti-Christian posts by Mormons. So blame those guys.

I just checked some other sections of the forum- unless something has changed in the past week, it must have just been one particular section I couldn't do anything in- but I can't understand why we would be "considered Christian" everywhere but there. I wish I remembered which one it was.

It might have been a glitch of some kind. There are also a handful of specially limited areas, e.g. "women only."

If someone misbehaves, action should be taken against that person, regardless of religious affiliation. Not by discriminating against an entire population of people.
