An interesting verse I noticed recently

Psalm 68:17 KJV
The
chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place."

the word "chariots" in Hebrew is "rekeb", meaning "a vehicle".

I find it interesting the expression the "chariots of God and and the thousands of angels connected to them. What are these "Vehicles" and why do angels need them? Maybe when they come into our realm they use them, not sure.

any comments

also I remember this verse

"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven."( 2 Kings 2:11 KJV)

and this verse about these chariots of fire again

2 Kings 6:16,17 KJV
"
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."

I saw the verses and looked up the words. This connected with other verses also.

I was talking with another brother about similar issues and these verses came to my mind

I get bread too. On asking. This ensures that the opening of Scripture I receive is Spirit led, and not the result of last night's pizza.
Yes many times when I pray or talk to the Lord I have scriptures flood my mind. This happens often when in fellowship and meetings and in witnessing etc. I encourage others to let the Word of Christ dwell in them richly as well and to wait for their teaching and ministering and to listen for God and His word.

Luke 11:1-13
1It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.”

2And He said to them, “When you pray, say:
‘Father, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.

3‘Give us each day our daily bread.

4‘And forgive us our sins,
For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”

5Then He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.8“I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

9“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.10“For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. 11“Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 12“Or ifhe is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? 13“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

A couple of thoughts. First angels are not omnipresent. That means they can only be in one place at a time. That means they need to move from one place to another. The chariots are most likely just figurative of how they move from place to place. Note how many times the Bible also has them with wings, a way for them to move from place to place. May also be figurative.

My other point is the association between chariots and armies of the day. Chariots were the strength of armies when the text was written. When Joshua spoke with God at Jericho, God, said he was the commander of the Lord's army. I think chariots help convey the concept that the angels are engaged in battle and do so in strength.

Joshua 5:13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord[e] have for his servant?”15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

But, if there are chariots, there must also be horses?

I had a brief thought if some of the so called "UFO" that are seen in history are relatd to the angelic realm, either good or fallen angels. Just a thought. Some have also claimed to see fire balls of light and vehicles zipping around

I read this verse and wondered

Ezekiel 1:14
"And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning."

and

Hebrews 1:7
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire."

Psalm 104:4
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
