No. Maybe not even about snakes at all.

QUOTE="Nicholas Deka, post: 72129655, member: 377019"]What do you make of Genesis 3:14-15?

The Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.

I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”

Is this literally just about the animals we know as "snakes" and nothing else?[/QUOTE

Why did Aaron get punished too? It was Moses that struck the rock for water -when they were supposed to speak to it. Was it because Aaron did not stop him from the second blow? What do you think about it? Thanks.
You're welcome!

I believe Aaron lost his right to the Promised Land because of the Golden Calf incident.

Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.
6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

Moses striking the rock was the final straw.

Notice here, where God says they can't go in because of their evil ways.

Numbers 14:35 I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

How old were the sons of Moses when they came with their mother to go back to Egypt with their grandpa?
Are you talking about this?

Exodus 4:19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
Exodus 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

I can't find anything on Jethro.

LOL ... I just noticed something.

What am I doing in Exodus? this is about Genesis! ;)

A new topic for you to look at/

Jacob in Genesis 27 had told Esau to get him venison-by using his weapons. Joseph brings a goat from their own flocks. How could Jacob not have known it was not venison? What is meant by vension and does a goat qualify as that kind of meat?

Goats and deer are actually related species (thus the use of 'peeled saplings' as a visual stimulus to breed). The term "savory" may imply a dish so seasoned that venison and goat meat might be indistinguishable. I recently had venison from the farmland of northern Illinois that had no discernible 'venison' taste at all. :yum:

Genesis 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

I heard a trivia question once that went:

What name did God give to Eve?

The answer is here in Chapter 5, where God named them both ADAM, but Adam then changed her name to Eve; an act that God honored.

Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

Notice here where the same thing happens, but David refused the name change:

2 Samuel 12:24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
2 Samuel 12:25 And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.
Interested theory. How do you know that God honored Adams naming of Eve? And when the bible Uses Adam before and after this naming, was it talking about both or just one?

Had it been completed, probably some 8000 feet!

The Book of Jubilees, part of the Old Testament Apocrypha, describes the tower as having a rectangular base 7,800 feet by 18,000 feet, and a height of 8,150 feet!

(See The Book of Jubilees, chapter 10, vs 19-27, R.H. Charles translation.)
So you can touch heaven at 8150 feet? Or has heaven moved further away since then?

Some people never ever get to see heaven, nor touch it.

Others, already are in the kingdom , as Jesus Says. (it is in our midst) (and has been)

How high was the tower of Babel when it was pulled down? How large was the base of the tower of Babel?
The foundation for the tower of Babel is still there in Iraq. The american soldiers use to like to go there to take photos. Saddam tried to rebuild but the Bible says the city will never be rebuilt. There are ziggurats found in 29 locations.

Believe it or not, Shem lived right up to the time of Jacob; providing eyewitness testimony of Noah and the Flood!

Genesis 11:10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:
Genesis 11:11 And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

He could have set any errant record straight.
Noah's father was born before Adam died. So they were both alive on earth for a short period of time.

You feel closer to Heaven at that level. I use to ski out in Utah and I felt closer to Heaven when I was up in the mountains. The air is thinner though so it could be a result of that. People that live in the Himalayan mountains (Tibet) have to have stronger lungs.

Genesis 2:19 "Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name."

I don't.

But when I see passages like this one:

1 Timothy 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

... then I figure He did.

Just one.
