There are three heavens: the sky, outer space, and Heaven proper.

So when they said:

Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

... I'm sure it was done in ignorance of the fact that First Heaven ends 62 miles up (100 kilometers).

To be technically correct, they should have said:

Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach into heaven;

YHWH sets all limits. What would have happened? No worries, YHWH / Adam/ did better than any husbandry known to mankind , and would have continued, and will again, YHWH'S WAY (with or without animals, etc) ....
(hint: people and animals, living YHWH'S WAY as HE CREATED THEM, would have survived on earth perfect, better than anyone today knows, as the Planner, the Architect of all Living Beings, never makes a mistake nor any error in His Plan.)
This includes any / many/ different ways that everything , perfectly, is orchestrated by Him.....
Wonderfully so, rarely understood.

The followers of Baal have no problem to sacrifice their son on the altar. Even today the abortion rate shows that people have no problem sacrificing their children to Baal. The clear message with Abraham was that he did not have to sacrifice his son on the alter, God would make the sacrifice for him. Also Abraham was fully convinced that God was going to raise Issac from the dead. Hebrews 11:19 "Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death." Heaven is going to be filled with children.

Luke 18 15 Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, if anyone does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will never enter it.”

AC is a rather recent invention. Billions of third world farmers still fulfill the 'curse'. Anyway it was a metaphor for having to labor for food rather than just picking it off the trees.

The 'sacrifice' of Isaac was part of God's plan of salvation for mankind....a very good thing.

Like all good religious stories, the story of Ahraham and Isaac can be looked at from various angles. Was Abraham testing God, seeing how far He would go, but with no real intention of actually killing Isaac? Was God testing Abraham, to see if he would actually go through with it? Some commentaries hold that if Abraham was really going to kill Isaac he failed God's test and note that God never spoke to Abraham again.
