GOD'S SHEEP HEAR HIS VOICE AND FOLLOW HIM

We must be careful to hear God's Word. If our eyes are not open how shall we see Him who loves all? How can we hear him calling us when we close our ears?

ACTS 28

Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27, For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Nothing more than an attack on those not holding your beliefs. What I wonder from my position is why you don't seem to believe what the Scripture say.

Keeping the Law is not a test for salvation; as a standard form keeping the Law is a requirement when in covenant with God; keeping Sabbath is a sign that one has entered into the covenant; that the kingdom of God with it's King and His Law is a delight, other wise what use would the kingdom of God be to one.
Keeping the sabbath isn't a sign of the person obliged t the new covenant. The Scripture says more than once it's a sign of Israel's covenant with God issued at Sinai. See Exodus 31!:3, 17as an example.
One is only required to keep the Law in as far as they are aware of it; a few Christians may not be aware of the Sabbath issue and may in the past be exempt; but most Christians wilfully abrogate the Law/covenant, and so they are called lawless.
This is nothing more than religious indoctrination. Christians don't abrogate the law. Jeremiah said it would be replaced and Jesus said it was.
One might think that a change to the Law is found in scripture but one would be hard pressed to prove it. Every so often I stumble onto Creflo Dollar on the TV and he seem to spend his whole life justifying not keeping the Law. But the Catholic Church has brilliant scholars and at the council of Trent when the Protestants were saying "the Bible, the Bible alone", the Catholics responded with, "If you go by the Bible alone you will have keep the Saturday Sabbath because there is no other authority for Changing it, only the Catholic Church.
I go by the Bible and there's no place the covenant I'm under even hinting a requirement of keep the 4th commandment.

What does the New Covenant mean to you and what is the difference between the Old and New Covenants?
Such a response would be very lengthy and only a basis for argument. If you wanted to know you would believe what has already been said.

The shortest version is Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Yep I know I asked these questions many times no one seems to know the answer or wants to answer it.

1. Where does it say in God's Word that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

2. If someone is living a life in unrepentant sin are they in a saved state before God or an unsaved state?
You've been told repeatedly and refuse to believe. The reason you give for this belief is you can't find the words "thou shalt not keep the sabbath" or "thou shalt worship on Sunday only." Such is a basis for legalism requiring performance of the body of flesh. That body isn't what's redeemed.

They refuse to answer any question that will hinder their view.

Indeed, because if they admit that observing Saturday Sabbath is mandatory for salvation, then it's also an admittance that salvation is through some means other than Jesus, and they're not going to state it simply and directly. It's part of the indoctrination process.

The old covenant was made with Israel yet it was not new but renewed; it was previously made with Abraham and very likely Adam and others:

Genesis 26:5 (NKJV)
5 because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws."

There is only one covenant even though is presented differently from time to time. In as far as the Gentiles are in covenant with God it is the one covenant; for a gentile to be in covenant with God a conversion is required such that they are no longer called gentiles but are called Israel. That the Law would go to the gentile is prophesied at least twice in the OT and this happened following Pentecost.
Covenants are separate.

God doesn’t recycle covenants.

The Old Covenant was not made with Adam or Abraham.

It is a huge mistake to not take what’s in God’s Word at face value.

Those living in known unrepentant have neither seen him or known him (1 John 3:3-9)
In 1 John 3:3-9 it does not say anywhere in there that you must repent of your sin.
It does say you cannot sin. What you are saying about these verses is that once you sin, you must repent. But why do these verses say that we can not sin.
Because the Seed of God is in us.
Your way of stating this verse is to say that after God sins, He must repent.
God CANNOT SIN. These verses are referring to the born-again part of me. My spirit, where God dwells inside of me. The new creation part of me. This New Man that I am to put on. Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

* God’s rest (Gen 2:1-3), those that believe enter into God’s 7th Day Sabbath rest those that do not believe do not enter into God’s 7th Day Sabbath rest (v5-6)
* Harden not your heart in unbelief (v7-8)
* There is a rest for the people of God (v9)
* Those that enter into God’s rest (Gen 2:1-3) cease from works as God did v10
* We should labour to enter into God’s rest (Gen 2:1-3) faith in God’s Word (rest through believing God) v11
* The Word of God is powerful. v12
You've almost got it. If this were talking about a specific day of the week, he would not have said that Joshua did not lead them into it. When David said there remained a rest, he was in the promised land, he had the 7th day Sabbath. Yet he still said there was a rest to get into. We should labor to enter that rest, stop trying to be righteous by the works of the law. Rest in Christ.

NOBODY is saying that. Grace and the Law are not mutually exclusive no matter what you choose to have to believe to make it OK for you.

The Old Covenant was only for the Hebrews/Jews. The Old Covenant was a people/tribe covenant, not open to everyone.

Hence, Jesus saying that He came for the Jews. Because the Jews were the ones promised a Messiah. After His death, it opened a New Covenant for all.

The New Covenant of His blood. He had to die to have that shed blood thingy.

People need to understand the Bible basics, milk drinking before meat eating

The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath.
You guys elevate the 7th day Sabbath to a point Jesus did not.
You make it burdensome by saying if you don't keep it, you are not saved.
What happened to "I will be merciful to there unrighteousness and there sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more?"

Grace and law are mutually exclusive,
John 1:17 The law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
God gave the 10 Commandments to Moses, Moses gave the 10 Commandments to the people. That is why the 10 Commandments are called "The Law of Moses".

Galatians is a great study. You should check out why it was written for starters.

2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

I'll bounce off just that one to get started here.

To me it's a simple as your verse there when it comes to sin we are willing to repent of, and even if we repeat that sin/sinning, there is the 7X70 clause. Most won't require that clause, or not so much anyway, but God figures if we do, and as long as they ask with sincerity, they will be forgiven. So pretty simple stuff there, and actually not a new concept at all, Atheist, Christians whoever often go with, "just make a genuine effort" and you'll be fine. To me that's all the forgiveness process is about, a genuine effort. One that should be taken very seriously and has a process we must follow, but still, just that. Not complicated at all.

However, there are written rules, they are written in the commandments, they are written again in several lists throughout the NT that if we choose a lifestyle of sin, either just blatantly, or we rely on some made up theology, that some actually do say allows them to sin all they like, unrepentant, without asking forgiveness (because Christ already died for those sins is their excuse) we are going to be in big trouble.

Some say, I" don't need a set of rules", well evidently God had a different idea there, made evident by scripture/his word, and just to mention a very few, Christs Sheep/Goat parable, and the many lists of sin throughout the NT, we cannot do, or we will not see the kingdom of God . Their points are undeniable regardless how some choose to try to change their meaning. They cover proving our faith and that we should not live a life of unrepentant sin, do or die.

Please read the scripture below, which we've posted for the umpteenth time on these boards, and tell me those are not written rules we need to follow? Show me how the message is the least bit confusing in any one of them? Or where it so much as indicates those people the warning is given too can't be anyone who does those things, whether they claim they are saved or not, or whatever the spin?

Again this post is directed in general, and all questions are rhetorical, but it's fine to address them if you like.

1 Cor 6:9-10 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were.

Gal 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 5:3-6 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No sexually immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

Rev. 22:12-16 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

I choose to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. You cannot be saved by works of law, whether it be by observing a Saturday Sabbath, wearing tassels on your clothes, or getting circumcised. The grace of Jesus Christ *is* the only way.

Lawkeepers say that we can not know right and wrong without the law (10 Commandments) God's Word shows that is not true.
Adam knew it was wrong to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
No written law yet.
Cain and Abel knew it was right to give sacrifices. Cain messed that part up, but Abel got it right.
No written law yet.
Lamech knew it was wrong to kill because he said if Cain be avenged 7fold, I will be avenged 77fold.
No written law yet.
Noah knew which animals were clean and which weren't.
No written law yet.
Abraham knew it was wrong to deceive others, but did it anyway to save his own skin.
Abraham did it later in life and taught Isaac to do so. Because Isaac did it too.
God didn't punish Abraham or Isaac because No written law yet.
Abraham knew it was right to pay tithes to Melchisedec.
No written law yet.
So we don't need the 10 Commandments to know right from wrong.
And we know there was no written law yet because Paul said in Galatians 3:17
And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

For others who have said that we become unrighteous when we sin, break God's law, what about Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1 and Romans 6:23
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is ETERNAL life through Jesus Christ our LORD.
Eternal means forever, not until the next time I sin.

can one be a follower of Jesus and not do works of the law?

True followers of Yeshua (not those followers in name only) know that works do not get us brownie points with G-d. Only Yeshua's righteousness and our submission to Yeshua and faith in Him does. And, if we truly love HIM, we will obey HIS commands, found in the New Covenant He gave us by His blood. We are not required the Old Covenant law of Moses as true children of G-d through faith in Yeshua.

Romans 3
19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to G-d. 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

21 But now the righteousness of G-d has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
