Your interpretation of God's Law (10 commandments) and the Mosaic laws seem to be mixed up which has led you to a wrong conclusion. It is true we are not under the Old Covenant laws of Moses. These are nailed to the cross because they were pointing as Shadows to Jesus.

You do not seem to understand however the difference between the laws of Moses and God's Law (10 commandments) which are the work of God and the standard of sin and righteousness in the Old Covenant, New Covenant and the Judgement to come.

What is the difference and roles of God's Law (10 commandments) and the laws of Moses .................................

(1) God’s Law (10 commandments)
Purpose; reveals what sin and righteousness (right doing) is and the describes the penalty for sin
(Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4; Romans 6:23). It was never a cure for sin. But it was the work of God which is forever and the foundation of the Old Covenant, the New Covenant and the Judgement to come. (Exodus 32:16; Exodus 31:18; 31:18; Exodus 20:1-22; Deuteronomy 10:5; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 7:19; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31; Ps 111:7-8; Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14; 1 John 3:5-8; 1 John 2:3-4; Ecclesiastes 3:14)

(2) The laws of Moses (Levitical, ceremonial, sacrificial)
Purpose; was the prescriptive cure for sin with all the Levitical and ceremonial laws, burnt offerings for sin, annual feast days foretelling the plan of salvation which were connected to Feast days with New Moon sabbaths, food and drink offerings and other Holy days. These where all types pointing to Jesus and the plan of salvation and provided a cure for sin through animal sacrifice and food and drink offerings and yearly sin atonement's for God’s people. (Leviticus 1:1-13; Leviticus 23:1-44; Numbers 28:1-31; 29:1-40; Deuteronomy 24:10-11; Exodus 24:3; Deuteronomy 31:24-26; Colossians 2:16-16; Hebrews 10:1; Ephesians 2:14-15; Leviticus 4; 5; 6; Hebrews 4:14; 9;10; John 1:29; not exhaustive there are many more).

Why were the ceremonial laws of Moses (handwriting of ordinances) nailed to the cross and shadows of things to come......

Jesus was our true sacrifice for our sins and the saviour of the world that the ceremonial laws of Moses all pointed to. When Jesus came and died the old Covenant laws of Moses that pointed to Jesus and the plan of salvation was fulfilled (John 1:29; 36; Revelation 5:6; 1 Corinthians 5:6-7; Hebrews 8:2-13; 9:1-28). Jesus is our true Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and our sacrifice for our sins. It is our sins as well as the ceremonial laws of Moses that were nailed to the cross at the death of Jesus (Colossians 2:14; Ephesians 2:15; John 3:16).

God's Law is forever and the standard of the Old and New Covenants and the Judgement to come.....

The Law of God (10 commandments) is the work of God (Exodus 32:16) whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecclesiastes 3:14). God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Psalms 19:7). It is the very foundation of the Old and New Covenants (Exodus 20:1:17, Hebrews 8:10-12). God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people (Exodus 20:1-22). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 25:35). Gods Law is still in force today (Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc.). The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31). God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5). '

In the New Covenant; God writes His Law in our hearts so that we become like him and we follow him because we love him (Heb 8:10-12) LOVE is the fulfilling (doing) of God's Law (Romans 13:10). This is why Jesus says to those that love him If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15). He that says I know him and keeps not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him (1 John 2:4) Obedience to God’s Law is the fruit of faith that works by love and fulfills God's Law in us who walk by faith and not by sight and walking in God's Spirit one does not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Faith in God's Word is the power of God unto salvation. Salvation is by faith alone, it is the great gift of God to those who walk in the Spirit who have faith in the Word of creation to live a life of Godliness and Holiness. If the Son shall make you free you shall be free indeed...... Salvation is from sin not in sin... If we break one of God's commandments we stand guilty before God of breaking all of them (James 2:8-12). Please friend do not take my word for it please pray and ask God and check the scriptures provided here to see if it is true or not for yourself....

So yep we are not under the Mosaic laws that were shadows of things to come but God's Law (10 commandments) are forever and the standard of what sin is and righteousness (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Psalms 119:172; Ecclesiastes 3:14).

Let's now reason with your interpretation that God's Law has now been ABOLISHED........

It is only through the Law of God (10 commandments) that any of us have a knowledge of what sin is (1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20; 24). If we do away with God's Law (10 commandments) we have no knowledge of sin. If we have no knowledge of sin we have no need of a savior. If we have no need of a savior we have no salvation. If we have no salvation we are lost. "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law." (Romans 2:12).

That did not work out to well now did it? You may need to go back to God's Word in prayerful study and examine what you believe as there is too many scriptures that do not agree with you that God's Law (10 commandments) is Abolished.

Who should we believe God or Man? The teachings and traditions of man or the Word of God? Jesus says if we follow the teachings and traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we believe God or man?

"carved in letters on stone"?

Once again let's have a look at the scriptures and the context which does not agree with your interpretation...............

Let’s look at the rest of the chapter?

v6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament (Covenant); not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit giveth life.
v7, But if the ministration of death, written and graven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away.
v8, How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
v9, For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
v10, For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
v11, For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
v12, Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
v13, And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
v14, But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
v15, But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16, Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Lets’ put it all together….

v6-7 What is the ministration of death graven in stone? It is God’s Law (10 commandments; Exodus 20:1-17; 31:18; 32:16). Why were they called the ministration of death? Because God’s Law (10 commandments) give the knowledge of sin and righteousness but makes nothing perfect (James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20; 7:7; Hebrews 7:19 ). God’s Law only shows what sin is and if broken, the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23). v8-10 It was to teach us that we are all sinners in need of a saviour and that all the world may become guilty before God (Romans 3:10; 19; Isaiah 64:6). It leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith (Galatians 3:24; Romans 3:28). v10-17 The glory of the one passes to the glory of the other (Law to Christ). They both work together to bring the sinner to salvation. It is the glory of the one (God’s Law) that supersedes the Glory of the other because God’s Law leads the sinner to the Saviour (Galatian 3:24-25). The glory has been done away not God’s Law. God’s Law is perfect and is forever but makes nothing perfect it is the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (Ecclesiastes 3:14) but makes nothing perfect. Faith that works by love through walking in the Spirit is the new ministration when someone is born again.

This is the difference between the true Gospel and the counterfeit. The counterfeit Gospel is one that tries to separate God’s Law from the cross but without God’s Law no one has the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20; 7:7; Hebrews 7:19).

Hope this helps..........

10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

In Christ Always!

Hope you can review all the scriptures you have not considered and they can help you have a closer walk with Jesus.

There is a lot of scripture provided here already and we have not even started talking about the scriptures dealing with SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS (God's Law gives a knowledge of both without it there is no knowledge; Romans 3:20) which is the purpose of God Law.

It's never been about following the law its always been about following Christ by faith through love alone. Faith that works by love is what fulfills God's Law in those that walk in His Spirit (Romans 13:8-10). Obedience is only the fruit of faith and a sign that someone is genuinely following God's Word (Matthew 7:17-27). If you seek obedience without faith you will never attain it because this is the gift of God written on the heart (Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 8:10-12). But if you believe God's Word, your faith will be counted for righteousness in God's eyes (Romans 1:17; Philippians 3:9). If your faith does not have the fruit of obedience (God's work in you) than you are still in your sins and have not seen him or known him and your faith is dead (Philippians 2:13; Hebrews 10:26-27; 1 John 2:2-4; 1 John 3:3-9).

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word..........

Hey Cody,
I can't read your reply! ;-) I'm open to gracious discussion one point at a time.

It does not seem that you are open to gracious discussion; because you do not answer questions that are asked of you like;

1. How do you know what sin is if God's Law has been Abolished?

2. Is a Christian who is living a life of known unrepentant in a saved state before God or an unsaved state before God?

3. Where in God's Word does it say that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

If you believe your interpretation of scripture is correct you should be able to answer those simple questions above.

My prayer for you my friend is that you may take it to God in prayer and study God's Word asking Jesus as we all need to do. The scripture already presented make your OP fall apart as do the questions above. They are written however in love and only as a help to you that you may seek him who loves all.

May God bless you as you seek him who loves us and washed us in His own blood. To him be all glory forever and ever. Amen

The Law is the Torah. The Torah includes the ten commandments. When Jesus fulfilled the Law, he fulfilled all of it, and not just the parts that are convenient to an agenda.

Actually nope; the "Torah" in Hebrew and "Pentateuch" in Greek is the first 5 books of the bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy and Numbers) written by Moses. There is no agenda, only God's Word and if there is no God's Word there is no truth....

1. How do you know what sin is if God's Law has been Abolished?

The Law (the entire Law) has not been abolished. Jesus fulfilled it's purpose on the cross and we are now under grace, not the Law. We are made righteous through Jesus's righteousness, not through the Law.

We now have the Holy Spirit as our guide.

John 16:7-14
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; 11 about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

2. Is a Christian who is living a life of known unrepentant in a saved state before God or an unsaved state before God?

It is not up to us to determine the status of someone else's salvation. Only God knows people's hearts. However, the Holy Spirit should be acting to transform a person who is in a saved state, and produce fruit of the Spirit as the person matures in his or her faith.

3. Where in God's Word does it say that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

We've all already answered this one numerous times.

Actually yes.

We have the books of the Law and the Prophets. The Torah (or the Pentateuch) contains the written law as recorded in the first five books of scriptures, and including the covenant made with the Israelites at Sinai. "Not with our ancestors did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today." (Deuteronomy 5:3)

Ok let's go with your belief. Jesus did fulfill God's Law otherwise he could not be a perfect sacrifice I agree but he did not fulfill it to give us a license to sin. You say God's Law is not ABOLISHED? This is correct as well as the scriptures clearly show above.

So if God's Law has not been ABOLISHED according to your own words; why do you say the 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED when there is no scripture in all of God's Word that says this?

It is a simple question I am not talking about judging anyone. I am asking about righteous judgement according to scripture. It seems like you are avoiding the question.

What does God's Word say about the question..............................

Hebrews 10
26, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

There is the answer to the question. If you are living in a life of unrepentant sin you are not in a saved state before God and if you do not repent you will be lost.
3. Where in God's Word does it say that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?
We've all already answered this one numerous times.
Another unanswered question and something that has not been done numerous times at all. If you believe what I am saying is not correct please by all means show me the scripture that says; God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. There is no scripture.

Who should we believe God or man? Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of man or the Word of God?

This post does not make any sense as you are making an argument that is not there. I am saying nope to your accusation of agenda when all I have provided is scripture that refutes the OP. How can God make a covenant with our ancestors in Deuteronomy 5:3 when their ancestors were dead? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Matthew 22:32).

...Jesus said on the cross, "IT IS FINISHED." He fulfilled the law.

Jesus indeed fulfilled God's Law this is not a license for us to break it. If we break it we commit sin and if we continue in unrepentant sin we are not in a saved state before God (Hebrews 10:26-27). Whosoever practices sin has neither seen him or known him (1 John 3:6)

who is the example you follow when not under the law? hard to see how it could be Jesus being as He followed the law.
I follow the Scriptures and Yeshua's own words when He gives us NEW commandments and He tells that He is giving us His NEW Covenant as the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Luke 22:20.
