Nope, wrong. This is what he did so we do not have to? So, why are you professing the Law?
He is the MODEL of HOW to PROPERLY walk in the light of Torah. The Jewish belief was that Torah could save and ironically, it is the very same like that sincere, well-meaning but ignorant Christians accuse Torah observant believers of today.
Gen 15 shows plainly that Trusting what G-d says and believing is what saves! Gen 15:6
And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
Believing (Trusting the promise of G-d) is what saves.
Torah is entirely about HOW TO WALK. If you ignore the statues, decrees, and commandments of G-d you are being disobedient. Just like the parable of the 2 sons (Prodigal) one son was disobedient the other obedient. The disobedient son wanted his inheritance now and lived in his FLESH doing as he was fit or AKA doing right in his own eyes. The other son was the obedient son. And though he was upset at his father for throwing a lavish party for his disobedient son what the father says to him is very interesting. Luke 15: 31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
Extensively we see that works of the flesh are DEAD.
