Lol, your interpretation of what I wrote! Lol

Blind reading at its best! Lol

I am quite certain that if Major1 had written, "I am grateful to Martin Luther for having put the Bible on a very high pedestal where it truly belongs." you would have been all over him like a wet blanket.

No, as he would be saying that it was highly thought of. You need to read things correctly my dear friend.

He didn't use the words "Apostolic succession", but you are denying Paul is passing his office to Timothy.
"[W]hat you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2).
Please provide a sensible alternative explanation that proves Paul is not telling Timothy to entrust others where they teach others.

Because you fail to understand what apostolic succession is.

It's not the basis for succession, but a single indicator. No doctrine rests on 1 or 2 verses as in Protestantism. A living legacy is the basis, that you deny anyway. Sometimes Scripture and Tradition overlap, so what Paul is saying in 2 Tim 2 IS TRADITION.

There was no complete Bible for 4 centuries. Paul's letters were accepted as canonical after 250 AD, and rarely quoted before then. It was the TRADITION of the episcopate that played a crucial role in the development of the Bible canon, and that makes sola scriptura contradictory and self defeating. You can't rip a wing off a bird and expect it to fly.

Here's a trick question: What verse gives the list of books that belong in the Bible?

Because to be a bishop one must first be taught before ordination. The text makes this quite clear. You say they weren't instant bishops therefore there weren't any. You are not making sense.

You can believe what ever you choose to believe but I say again to you that No biblical evidence exists to indicate that the original apostles were replaced when they died. NONE_ZERO_"O".

Your comment was.........
"He didn't use the words "Apostolic succession".

Correct and that is what I have been saying all along. We agree!
Their are NO Scriptures which validate Apostolic succession.

Then you said..................
"but you are denying Paul is passing his office to Timothy."

Correct Again! Paul could not pass the position of apostle to Timothy because Timothy did no meet the requirements of an Apostle. It is just that simple and Biblically speaking that is exactly why there can not be apostles today.

To be an apostle the Bible says that one had to have ............
1.
Received their commission directly from the living lips of Jesus.
(Acts 1:22; 22:14; 1 Corinthians 9:1).
2.
Saw the Savior after His resurrection.
(Matthew 10:5; Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:13; Acts 1:26; 9:15; 22:14-15,21; 26:16).
Wrong. To be a bishop a man has to be MARRIED.
3.
An apostle was invested with miraculous power to the extent that he could perform miracles.
(Mark 3:15; 16:17-20; Luke 9:1-2; John 14:12,26; 15:24-27; 16:13; Acts 2:43; 4:29-31,33; 5:12,15-16; 6:6; 8:14-18; 19:6; 2 Timothy 1:6; Romans 1:11; Hebrews 2:3-4).

1 Tim. 3:2............
"A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach".

Waw, I never seen such a person wrapped up in his own self esteem.

All you ever do is criticise the Catholic Church teachings etc. You refuse to accept any Catholic answers to scripture. Only YOUR view is correct!

Like I said before, pick up maybe Scott Hahnes book or Steve Ray and in them you will find full explanations to your Catholic doubts. Much better than I can explain as I am not a super theologian like you.

Obviously you have been ingrained so much with your 'all Catholic teachings are wrong' that you are very much lost.

The CC goes hand in hand with the Bible. CC gave you the Bible. Then, people like you decided to alter scripture and then, read it anyway as long as it suited your own personal views / beliefs.

As a non-denom you have interpreted scripture in your very own little way and heaven help anyone who comes up with a Catholic representation of what a passage means!!

Satan loves those who go it alone. He does everything to get people away from the Catholic Church, the church of Christ.

Jesus is the cornerstone of the CC though. Nothing can make it crumble and fall.

And the Lord Jesus loves a workman who endeavors to rightly divide the Word of God.

As A Catholic, honestly, I do not expect you to understand neither do I expect that you will accept the teachings of the Scripture.

And you think we're going to end up believing your man-made, heretical tosh, because you keep coming back, to fulminate some more, Major Major ? Before you respond, you might like to wipe the flecks of spittle off your lapels. If you do that - no don't thank me - and you tell me if you think we mistake statues of Jesus for the actual Jesus, maybe we'll be able to start taking you a little seriously. If only to persevere in our efforts to correct you ; depending on the promise or otherwise you show with your answer.

Where in that nonsense is there A bible question to be addressed? Is there a Church doctrine that you wanted to debate or are you just being childish because you do not know any of the Scriptures?

Anyway, I am grateful to the CC for having Our Blessed Mother Mary put on a very high pedestal where she truly belongs.

I am sure that Jesus loves the fact that His Mother is greatly loved.

You just said............."I AM GRATEFUL TO THE CC FOR HAVING OUR BLESSED MOTHER MARY PUT ON A VERY HIGH PEDESTAL".

Where in the Bible is that doctrine my friend?

Feel free at anytime to post the Bible verse that you would like to discuss. Shall we talk about what I got wrong and compare our thoughts?

And..........can you speak in any other tone except sarcasm?

It really does not become YOU as a Catholic to continue to be so sarcastic in your comments.

How? By ripping out 7 books? The Church had the Bible very high on a pedestal by reading it out loud as part of her liturgy. 95+% of the population could not read.

Luther's Protestant Bible came out 1520 and before his Bible the Catholic Bible had been translated into Spanish, Italian, Danish, French, Norwegian, Polish, Bohemian, Hungarian and English, there was exactly 104 editions in Latin; 38 editions in German language, 25 editions in Italian language, 18 in French. In all 626 editions of the Bible with 198 in the language of the laity, had been edited before the first Protestant Bible was sent forth into the world.

This nonsense about Martin Luther rescuing the Bible is just Protestant propaganda.

Embrace the Catholic Church and see the truth. The truth that Jesus gave to the church.

NO! God has given ALL believers the fruit of knowledge.

Prov 2:6,9-11 ..............
" For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.... Then you will understand what is right and just and fair--every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

Mat 11:25..............
"At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, and revealed them to little children."

Jam 1:17 ........
"Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.

Can you please post the Scripture which you claim that knowledge was given to the "Catholic Church".

You completly missed the point that was being made. Nothing was said about Martin Luther rescuing the Bible except what YOU just said.
