"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons."

There is no reason for a Christian to risk exposure or association with otherworldly entities, potentially evil spirits masquerading as spirits of light (likely). This is why Tarot, Ouija board, fortune tellers are all forbidden for us.

The Bible strictly forbids this trespassing into the unknown.
You are making yourself vulnerable to deceiving spirits who will play games with your soul.
Do not seek familiar spirits. Contacting the dead, etc.

I think you may need to re-read my post....as it was not about you at all.....hence the reason why you werent Quoted. My first sentence was a scripture, to give a possible reason why others could disagree...and you werent the first in this thread. And My pride remark was concerning her propensity to feel sad for or angry at people who dont agree with her. I happen to think pride can creep in, when one starts to feel this way about others. Seems like you are the only Judgmental one here.

I think that people need to realise that psychic abilities are very real and do not need to be wrong whatsoever - Paul calls such a gift - discerning of spirits - 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Jesus was really good at it as well. Jesus even went to preach to those souls stuck in Hades who had perished in the time of the flood and didn't know truth from lies before He came to rescue them from those spirits. For only the truth can set us free from the lie - death - the result of lies - certainly doesn't - we best remember that. (Isaiah 28:15-17)

So to demand a psychic not to be a psychic, like religious people often do, is an incorrect way of understanding the issues at hand and denies the abilities of the person involved and is therefor no good guidance for someone who struggles with discerning spiritual manifestations, be they good or bad.

However when any kind of bad life strikes us down, this can be because of physical illness as well, then we must realise that we are not often guided by the spirit of perfect love and then we should not think we are perceiving truth after that for that is simply not true. Even if we discerned 'real truth' around us we wouldn't know it to be true because the truthlessness ruling our eyes will twist the truth and pervert it. (1 John 1:6)

So only when we are in the truth of God can we see the truth of the lie all around not otherwise. (1 John 2:21)

God's Word often offers us clear insights into both right and wrong, the following prophecies are a clear examples against those who practise their psychic abilities wrongly and the outcome such has on them.

Isaiah 47
“Go down, sit in the dust,
Virgin Daughter Babylon;
sit on the ground without a throne,
queen city of the Babylonians.
No more will you be called
tender or delicate.
Take millstones and grind flour;
take off your veil.
Lift up your skirts, bare your legs,
and wade through the streams.

And then read Revelation 17:15- Revelation 8:1-8 for the final outcome of the rule of the lie (also within us fallen people.)

Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”
After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. With a mighty voice he shouted:

“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’
She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird,

Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

Pour her a double portion from her own cup.

I reckon that only when we pass our spirit past the scrutiny of God's word that we can discern right from wrong spiritually. Like was said before satan loves whispering fibs into itchy ears and is a master at deceit, so we who have psychic abilities best keep our selves grounded by God's truths and take His warnings about interacting with the wicked to heart.

Like John tells us any spirit that doesn't acknowledge Jesus Christ and Him crucified 1 John 4:1-3, or any spirit which doesn't love according to the Scriptural principles of God love as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, is untrue and not to be trusted.

Incorrect. This is not about clairvoyance, but rather a gift of discernment through the Holy Spirit to
prove the truth of spiritual doctrines, revelations and the like.
The Holy Spirit and the Word are two witnesses to the truth of Jesus and the gospel.
A Spirit-filled Christian has discernment to test the spirits (whether they be of God), to test
the truth of new teachings, to test dreams and revelations or prophesies.

Many years ago a series of books offering new revelations and insights directly from God for
evangelical Christians was on the U.S. best seller lists and purchased by millions of Christians.
I borrowed a copy and after reading the introduction and the 1st chapter I thought this is a
load of rubbish.

over this book and asked Jesus if the contents were from him, as the notable author claimed.

I'm sorry brother but you twisted everything out of perspective thinking that to be a psychic is practicing clairvoyance for such is simply not true.

To be psychic means you can discern the spiritual, but to practice clairvoyance is to use your psychic ability to read/predict/manipulate/interrogate/reveal the past, present or future, usually to gain personally from such an exercise, and such is not permitted by God.

For unless The Holy Spirit brings us a revelation or vision we are not allowed to inquire after such things but keep our eyes peeled on Jesus instead. Revelation from the Holy Spirit we know from Scriptures is fairly common in the lives of those who have His Spirit, especially in the lives of those who have been given the gift of discerning spirits, for not all believers are given such gifts, only those with psychic abilities can discern spirits. ( Like I showed before Paul points out in 1 Corinthians 12)

This does not mean that believers can't discern truth from lies through the use of God's word and in the power of his Spirit, or the works/deeds of the wicked in people - but that is something very different again and does not need any psychic ability as such just discernment of truth vs lies and doesn't need psychic ability whatsoever.

How is that a gift? I had some speculation on whether or not falling from grace changed the way angels looked-but deliving into bad things we are curious about doesnt make it a gift.

Some people are very spiritually aware. That is a gift to be carefully developed.

Sometimes though there is a family inheritance of some involvement in occult practices of some sort. That needs to be dealt with or the gift can become 'contaminated' unwittingly.

As a general rule any insight is for the good of the other person. i have come to suspect the source of any such insights when they seem to be about trivial matters, a "so what" vision that does not lead to any growth in Christ. Paul speaks of edifiying a person, building them up, as the purpose of a prophetic word for them. I suggest you adopt that criterion.

I don't care what your theology thinks about that, agree or not agree, my psych ability is truth for me and I'm sure many others who are gifted with such abilities as well. So I reckon you best educate yourself about the psychic and not throw the baby out with the dirty bath water brother.

Yes I agree that we need to Holy Spirit to know the truth - however I also have psychic abilities knowing God's truth - you think out of your revealed truths which excludes the psychic for you are not gifted with it, but I know out of mine revealed truths, and I know for first hand experience that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit has a profound impact on how I see good and bad. Yet God's Spirit has, is and will used my psychic abilities as He see fit, indeed my abilities have been sharpened, refined and tested by Him and are very much amplified when it come to discerning spiritual things by His Spirit rather than diminished.
