i know a man that is a member of the Jehovah witness, who does not agree with them about everything they teach. he professes to be saved by Jesus, and i can see the love of God in his life.

the Truth is that none of us can tell if someone else is really a Christian, because only God can see the heart; we can't even know this about ourselves - we must simply believe that we are reborn in Christ with no evidence to support this other than God's revealed written word; that's what True faith is - belief in God's word alone as the exclusive authority of Truth.

1Sa 16:7 KJV
(7) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Mat 7:15-23 KJV
(15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
(16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
(17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
(18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
(19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
(20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

One can't ask a question about the denomination and expect a good answer by looking at individuals. Every individual, pastor, leader believes different things, or at least believes them differently. Usually it is the denomination's core doctrine that is examined—but also what is actually being taught and done in the churches. JW doctrine includes the denial of the Triune nature of God. i.e., that Jesus is not God. They use a (from a Christian mainstream point of view) translation of Scripture that is not true to the original languages. (I read that it may be some of the passages that describe Jesus' nature.)

Is Jehovah Witness Christian?

JW's Bible is unlike any Bible any Christians use that are Orthodox Christians. They have deliberately changed much of the New Testament. Their bible is The New World translation. It completely distorts who Jesus is and that he is Gods, one and only Son. They can not tell anyone who is going to heaven. Please do NOT even let these people in the door, Stay away from JW.

Is Jehovah's Witness Christian?

It all comes down to whether or not denying that Jesus is God represents such a fundamental departure from the Christian faith that the term isn't applicable.

Answer that question and you (or anyone else) has answered the question of this thread.

No, they believe another Jesus not the Jesus that born again christians know.
Also their bible is corrupted and changed.

Beware of watchtower publications and dont join them, they are a known cult.

Yes. Historically Christological heresies were considered to make you heretical, but not non-Christian. As long as they trust in Christ as savior, I consider them Christian.

Their web site sees Michael as a name applied to Jesus in his resurrected and premortal states, and thu. While this interpretation is odd, it hardly seems to make them non-Christian. Legalistic, yes. But that is unfortunately true of lots of Christians. Fortunately we're justified by our faith in Christ, not by the accuracy of our theology.

No, you don't get to define everyone you disagree with as believing in another Christ, and thus avoid justification by faith.

But in recent years, certain beliefs have gotten some religious bodies labelled as "cults" because their heresies go to the heart of what defines the faith. They're not simply doctrinal controversies such as the nature of Holy Communion or whether to baptize by immersion or some other way.

One of these fundamentals is the identity of our God (naturally enough, IMHO). So if a religion says that Christ isn't that God, it goes to the essence of what "Christianity" is all about.

Is Jehovah Witness Christian?
It might be better to ask the question, are Jehohav Witness believers saved. While we never know what is inside a person's heart, the doctrine of JW is not Biblical. In many ways, the whole Bible points towards Jesus, His deity and Cross. And JW deny that whole truth. A person cannot deny the Deity of Christ and be saved
