Using that logic, one would have to reject the truth and be wrong on purpose just to not be stubborn

No, staying true to a position and being stubborn are not the same thing. Stubborn suggests a lack of willingness to even consider alternative ideas; so long as you are willing to and actively do consider alternative positions and evaluate them fairly, you aren't stubborn, regardless as to whether or not your position ever changes.

Yes. I joined this site as a god loving christian. The attitudes of many of those who also identify that way here made me realize that it must be only our human spirit that causes good. It sure can't be any god who allows what's seen here.

My feelings are similar. The changes that have happened over the years, sure make me feel that God does not reside to some members in this forum. Then again some christians would disagree .

WinAce was in interesting character in that he sought compassion for his circumstances while taking pleasure in holding up for ridicule the people who held opinions different from his. Rather than work to change my views he confirmed them such as how some liberals preach tolerance while being intolerant themselves, like WinAce

That wasn't my impression of him. Quite the opposite. He seemed warm and genuine to me. And I was a theist at the time, specifically, a Christian.

At my age, I've considered the alternative ideas and have stuck with what is right

No, you have stuck with the same positions. And chances are some of your perceptions and positions are wrong to varying degrees. Plus, your comment did sound kinda arrogant and stubborn, the one that I responded to and ended up being this whole mess.

You referenced his website where he ridiculed people. Is that an example of warm and genuine? I call it an example of hypocrisy

Or make a vague enough post to dance around any refutation.

Actually, she went directly to the point and covered the two, moving goal post positions - stubbornness as a bad trait, and no one is absolutely right on everything. Maybe I read it wrong?

Oh, good grief.

Back on topic -

Yes. I was a Christian when I joined this community in 2002, and now I'm not.

I am defining the concept of being stubborn. If I am truly off, you can refute me with a quick google search of the definition of the word.

This was aimed at a lot of people who post on these forum, but you weren't one of them that I had in mine. I've noticed multiple posters argue with this method to always appear on top of the argument.

Yes I wasn't aiming the reply to her directly but a bunch of different posters. She isn't one of them ironically.

I know, of all the people you quote, you pick one who doesn't match your complaint ^_^

If a statement is general, you shouldn't quote anyone, or just state something along the lines of "this is something I see too many people do" without quoting.

Oh the joys of communication through text; it is nice not being the only one having problems being understood.

In degrees, sure. Overall, no.

Each story is full of details. Sometimes the details don't become fully revealed until well after a discussion thread has been started. The protagonists make their cases and the antagonists try to dissemble them. It happens daily right here ... with enlightenment available for all.
