Prophecy of the Tabernacle
Amazing prophecy is shown illustrating the Millennial Prophecies. First of all, the tabernacle has three chambers, which are all prophetic. The outer court (courtyard), the inner court (holy place), and the Holy of Holies. Each chamber, or component represents different ages in Gods prophetic timetable. The outer court represents the age of the law and those under it, the inner court (holy place) represents the age of grace or the church age, and the Holy of Holies represents the messianic age or the millennial age (1000 year reign).
The dimensions of the Outer Court: The outer wall was 100 cubits in length, 50 cubits in width, and 5 cubits in height (Exodus 27:18). When we add the two longer walls (100+100) to the two shorter walls (50+50), then we find that the Tabernacle Courtyard was 300 cubits around. Further, if you multiply the 300 cubits perimeter by 5 cubits (the wall height), we find that the total square area outer court wall was 1500 square cubits.
The dimensions of the Holy Place: Holy Place was 20 cubits long, 10 cubits wide, and 10 cubits high. The Holy place was different. Its area confirms this as it was a room of 20 X 10 X 10 cubits. This measure is taken from the number of boards used for the Tabernacle and the curtains that were to hang over it (Exod.26:1-14). 20x10x10 (length x width x height) is 2000 - the Holy Places area was 2000 cubic cubits.
The dimensions of the Holy of Holies: Its dimensions were 10x10x10, or 1000 cubic cubits.
Now comes the deep part, what is the significance of this? Well the Outer court represents the age of the law and prophets. From Moses receiving the Law on Mount Sinai to the resurrection of Christ was approximately 1500 years. If you recall, the Courtyard wall was 1500 square cubits! Notice that only in the outer courtyard were their sacrifices slain and offerings are burned and so forth. Thus, those in that era had to make sacrifices.
Next comes the Holy Place. The Holy Place contained the Table of Showbread (the Lord's Supper), the Alter of Incense (the prayers and the praises of the saints go up to God [Hebrews 13:15]), and the seven-branched Lampstand (represents Christ and the Church as the light of the world). This illustrates why we are illuminated by the Holy Spirit from Christ, our lampstand , we feed from the bread (his body), and we offer up our prayers and praises to God. The Holy Place therefore represents the Church Age! And because the Holy Place was 2000 cubic cubits in size, we can see that the Church age will be approximately 2000 years in duration! Wow, this lines up exactly with what has been shown. We are still within 2000 years since the church age began. Thus, we are still in the church age. Also, note that to enter the Holy Place, one would have to come through the veil. In scripture, the veil was torn when Christ died for our sins on the cross (Mark 15:38). This symbolizes how we can now enter the Holy place. Hebrews 9:8-9 and 10:19, basically reaffirms that the tabernacle tells us what time we are in, and that we are now in the Holy Place, the 2000 year period.
The dimensions of the Holy of Holies gives us 1000 cubic cubits, which represents the Millennial Kingdom of Christ which will of course will last a thousand years! Notice, we are still in the 2000 year church age period, after 2001 years, we are entering the third millennium, which soon ushers in the 1000 year reign! Notice that in the Holy of Holies lies the Ark of the Covenant, which contains the glory of the Lord, in which only once a year the High Priest would enter and would commune with God. This symbolizes how during the millennial reign the glory of the Lord will be displayed and cover the earth and Gods presence will be on earth before all.
Notice also that the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place were covered, whereas the Courtyard was open air. In essence, The Age of the Law and Prophets knew about God the Father and the Holy Spirit, but the revelation of Jesus Christ remained concealed. During the Church Age and in the Millennium to come, Christ is and will be revealed
The Holy of holies also would be entered in once by the High Priest on the Day of Atonement, the Sabbath of Sabbaths. Note that Hebrews says that Christ has atoned for our sins and has entered this place with his blood. Also, in the millennial period, there is symbolism in that just as the goat for Azazel was sent out of the land during the Day of Atonement, Satan will be locked up and sent away from the earth. Moreover, the sending of the Azazel goat out into the wilderness as done by the Old Testament High Priest after he returned from inside The Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle is a ceremonial "preview" of Jesus Christ sending Satan into the abyss which will be done after His Return from the Throne Room of God. Furthermore, the millennial reign is in fact the Sabbath of Sabbaths (7th day)!
Remember, the millennial period is kicked off by the last (seventh) trumpet when Christs Body, (the church) is raised. At the sound of the last trumpet Revelations says Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever (Revelations 11:15). Thus, the governments of the world are no longer, but only the Kingdom of God is upon the earth. During this Holy of Holies period notice what Revelations 11:19 says, And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm. Recall that the ark of the covenant is only in the Holy of Holies, which is the period we shall be in during the 1000 year reign!
