It's appalling what they feed those animals. And it's remarkable that they are now confriming what I've been saying for years: why are Americans overweight? Because Americans eat beef cattle that are full of antibiotics and bovine growth hormones. They feed that junk to the cattle to make them bigger and fatter, but we expect to eat that stuff and not get bigger and fatter? Right. If they'd stop putting that junk in the food supply, we'd probably all lose weight like mad, and never have to lift a finger.
"Conspiracy theorists" have been saying this for years... but of course they are just crazy conspiracy theorists.
There is no incentive to stop using rBST growth hormones, or antibiotics, or saline injections. If it was about public health, Phillip Morris would have been out of business decades ago. Hormones, GMOs, antibiotics, etc. are justified by "feeding the world."
By the way, they
have to use antibiotics because of the way the animals are farmed. They are raised in stressful environments, in close quarters, and live in their own (or other cattle's) waste. They are beaten and abused. You aren't only eating rBST, saline, and antibiotics, you are also eating
fear and stress hormones deposited into the meat. The meat is poisoned.
Today, there is no safe food. Much of the vegetation is GMO. Even animals that are "free-range" are eating GMOs. A farmer cannot be sure that his/her cattle are eating non-GMOs, because the seeds and pollen blow with the wind. It all comes down to degrees.
Vegan: Primary option. Non-GMO foods (no soy, wheat, corn, etc.) No gelatin (made with pig bones.) Non-GMO, non-irradiated vegetables and fruits.
Vegeterian: Secondary best option. Eggs and milk from non-factory-raised cattle/fowl. Grass-fed cow's milk. Free-range chicken eggs. Non-GMO, non-irradiated vegetables and fruits.
Omnivorous: Tertiary option. No vertically farmed fowl, no factory-raised cattle. Grass fed cattle only. Non-saline injected fowl. Pigs eat everything, so eating pork would be hard to get healthy sustainable results. Non-GMO, non-irradiated vegetables and fruits.
Carnivorous: Quaternary option. No vertically farmed fowl, no factory-raised cattle. Grass fed cattle only. Non-saline injected fowl. Pigs eat everything, so eating pork would be hard to get healthy sustainable results.
Meat has been sick for at least five decades. The fact they "they" are admitting this now means the situation is much worse than the public is being told.
