I Am Living In Fear

I have hadephobia. I just heard sounds, according to the scientist, from hell. They were digging in Siberia and they recorded wailings from underground. It has given overwhelming fear. I have confessed the Lord Jesus and have submitted my life to him, but I get this feeling that he is going to reject me. It frightens me. I am afraid of going to sleep and not waking up, and finding myself in hell. This fear is so overwhelming, I can barely function. How can I get over this?

I think we've all had some of those. That doesn't mean you're going to hell. I've gone through periods of time where I'd fall into sin. Repent. Do it again. Repent. Over and over for quite a while. Each time made me feel more and more guilty. Each time you go to repent it feels a little more fake. But you do it anyway. Because in the end, God has already forgiven us. All our sins have been forgiven. Past. Present. Future. The act of confessing / repenting to God does not grant you forgiveness, but it does restore your walk with God.

I've heard about that - they dug really, really deep, and a lowered microphone (supposedly) picked up the sounds of people screaming and moaning.

What it is, though, is the tectonic plates moving and adjusting themselves. Rocks, dirt, ice, etc. rubbing together.

Humans experience something called "Matrixing." When you look at a pattern, and your brain makes it a face, or when you hear a strange noise, and your ears tell you it's a human moan, that is matrixing. It happens all the time.

For the OP, just know that you did not hear hell - just ice floes and rocks rubbing together.

OP, I'm sorry you're dealing with so much fear. I've struggled with fear all of my life, so I know how you feel. You need to listen to the people who have responded, though. You have nothing to be afraid of. Yes, Satan and hell are scary things, but they cannot hurt YOU if you belong to Jesus. If you feel afraid, instead of dwelling in your fear, you need to run to Jesus immediately. Tell Him you're afraid, then start quoting - out loud - His promises to be with you, to protect you, and deliver you from fear. The Bible says we battle spiritual things, not earthly things, and this is very true. If your spirit is under attack, you need to use the defenses that God has given you. Read about the Armor of God in Ephesians 6. Read some of the more comforting Psalms (#27 is a favorite of mine). Sometimes we do have to battle our own frail, human minds; it stinks, and it's no fun, but I promise that if you endure and persist and continually call on God for strength and help, He WILL help you.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think I have a similar fear.
I get worried- TERRIFIED that I will be in hell.

Another thing, I saw a video on YouTube where someone wanted to debunk the "sounds from hell" clip.
They took the sound that the mic supposedly picked up and compared it to a sound clip from a movie. (Idon't remember which one, but it was an old movie...) and as they were doing this, the person explained the adding of distortions to make that one movie clip sound as if masses of people wee screaming in agony in some other realm.
So, this guy took this clip from an old horror movie and lined it up with the sounds from hell clip, and upon very close inspection, you could pinpoint the similarities in the sound clips together.

Both clips had he same patterns going on at the same time... Sooo, yeah, lol.

Weren't you ever told that Christ Jesus died in your place and your sins are forgiven?

Ponder on that whenever you get so upset about things. Turn to the Savior.

I too have those moments, as I imagine most Christians do at one point or another. It's easy to doubt our salvation or feel like we're not truly saved when we do something wrong or when we don't see ourselves growing in our faith the way we should.

We all deserve to go to hell for our sins. However, faith in Jesus alone ensures us eternal life spent with Him. The fact that you're concerned is actually a GOOD thing, as it shows that you take your faith seriously and you don't want to parish. Granted, you've taken it to an extreme that isn't healthy or conducive to your Christian walk, but at least you want to grow in Christ and aren't content to sit idly by and do whatever you want.

Jesus claims that all who honestly call on Him will be saved. If you've repented and asked Jesus to come into your life and to lead you then you are His child.:)

Fear is a lie brother. Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18) it takes time to reknew the mind, I've had a similer problem. read Hebrews 10:19-23 I assure you that all your sins are gone, past present and future. You are accepted as God's own child. You have been sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption. And we are to have our minds sprinkled from an evil conscience, there is therfore now no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1) read Romans and Hebrews those two books help, they are about the law and grace. God loves you, and when He sees you He sees Jesus because He deals with you in the spirit. He doesn't even remember your sins, He forgave them through His own blood. He doesn't want you to live with a sin conscience either, that's what Hebrews is saying.

Ask from the depths of your heart to understand the cause for your fear and to be given the wisdom to do whatever Messiah wants you to do about it. It's just not about hearing sounds, of course, it's about you being concerned in your own personal life.

I find it helps something to get down on my face on the floor - makes me more humble - and ask for help. (Some saints did this, in the Bible.) First praise Him with some Bible verses that tell of His mercy and power and salvation, His guidance. Then sincerely and humbly ask for help our of your predicament. Dont' worory if you don't feel a zap from Heaven. If you meant it, He heard it. In time you will get more light and more help.

As they say with some medicines, "Repeat as needed."

Mho. Praying for you.

A little bit of healthy fear can be a good thing.
Tectonic plates are definitely heaving these days, and there's even talk of connection between planets' gravitational pulls and our earth's crust.

As others said, we all need to cling to God's promise that He did in fact offer salvation to those who repented and believed in Him -- so stand on that promise!

It is not our goodness that saves us.
