Maybe the message is lost in translation - because it is not about the tax - its about losing sovereignty to the UN who will be free to tax us.
Lookie - we tax - we keep it for our own problems. We dont have some other non American entity come and TAKE it from us to spend as they choose. There is a huge problem we should have with it, if we understand it.
So the latest Republican talking points are sovereignty.
*Yawn*
I've personally heard that our sovereignty is in peril since 1989 and I'm sure it's been the same thing ever since the country was founded.
Frankly, having seen the 'pale blue dot' that is our Earth, I kinda look at things from a much broader perspective.
I thought Needing_Grace's comment was more to say, "this argument has been used over and over again, yet here we are, still the same."
Oh, how they love the troops when they're all spit and polish and clean, marching off to war. Oh, how they despise the troops when they come home hurting, needing jobs and/or health care. You know, people are dying at your expense and convenience. I respect the armed forces, both past and present, but the whole "they died for you" thing isn't really effective, considering the majority of wars have nothing to do with self-defense.

Revealed â the capitalist network that runs the world - physics-math - 19 October 2011 - New ScientistAS PROTESTS against financial power sweep the world this week, science may have confirmed the protesters' worst fears. An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy.
The study's assumptions have attracted some criticism, but complex systems analysts contacted by New Scientist say it is a unique effort to untangle control in the global economy. Pushing the analysis further, they say, could help to identify ways of making global capitalism more stable.

And Chany, I come from a proud military family and my husband fought for your freedom as well. Sorry if you don't like it. Freedom isn't free.
Revolutionary War was defense and a fight for freedom.
You folks laugh at freedom...til you will lose it.
Who will Obama blame for the bad economy after the next four years? Oh, yeah. It won't matter to him. This is the best reason yet to give Obama 4 more years.
