When someone is asked if he believes in God, he is actually asked whether he believes in God or nothingness.
Because if you think about it, "nothing" is the only alternative that fills in the place of God.
I am saying that because both the words "God" and "nothing" are answers to the same questions;

"What is responsible for the creation and evolution of the world?"
A theist will answer "God" and an atheist will answer "nothing".

"What has existed before anything else has come to exist?"
A theist will answer "God" and an atheist will answer "nothing".

"What we become after death?"
A theist will answer that through theosis we become part of "God", while an atheist will answer that we stop existing and thus become part of the "nothing"

As you can see, both "God" and "nothing" are different pazzle pieces to fill the same gap.
You could say that atheism is a religion worshipping "nothing" instead of "God".

Thus, every person in the world has to decide whether he believes in God or nothingness.
But in order to choose, we must first try to define each word. And that's where the trouble begins;
Both God and nothing are words that have to do with infinity and surpass our ability to perceive them through logic.
Thuss they cannot be precisely defined
(That is probably the reason why God will never be proved to exist or to not exist).
But nonethaless, we can try to define them, even vaguely.
So here we go;

"God"; An absolute,infinite,immaterial,spiritual being, responsible for the creation and evolution of our world.

"Nothing"; While God can be, even vaguely defined, "nothing" cannot, because it contradicts itself as a word;
If it is defined, it stops being "nothing" and becomes something thus losing any meaning it had as a word.
But if a word cannot be defined in any way, then it has no meaning to begin with.
From that point of view, "nothing" seems like an illogical, meaningless, human creation.
Thus, it is far more logical to accept that there is a God than to accept that there is "nothing" instead.

Well, here is a little thought I came up with last night. What do you think?
Am I going crazy? Because I wasn't highy when I came up with it :p

It sounds like someone from a Orthodox family wanted to become a Lutheran - and another one from a Lutheran family wanted to become Orthodox.
What are you even talking about? What does that have to do with this topic?
:confused:
