The devil isn't trying to destroy your marriage. You are trying to destroy your marriage, either because you should (in the case that you married a bad person) or because you aren't committed. It is your choice. Either buck up and commit 100%, or end your bad situation and learn from it. As long as you blame the devil for the actions of people, you'll get nowhere.

I kinda would agree with your post! I mean, yes, people can destroy their marriages by their actions and attitudes and they don't seem to want to improve their marriage by changing their bad character. But at the same time, from a faith point of view, marriages will take a number of hard knocks and the devil would like to see it destroyed. But the buck still does stop with us! What are we doing? How are we helping the situation?

To the OP, I'd recommend reading Debi Pearl's book 'Created to be a Help Meet'! I don't agree with everything in there 100% but as far as hitting the nail on the head using scripture, she's by far the best out there that I've come across! READ IT! And may Abba lead you to find the wisdom regarding this matter!

Just because somebody has marriage difficulties does not mean they are trying to destroy their marriage. Sometimes, they are unwittingly destroying their marriage; sometimes the other party is the problem. I'll agree, though, that both parties of the marriage should be committed 100% to making their marriage work no matter the circumstances.

I tend to agree with Joshua on this. Instead of taking the cheap way and blaming an evil force, you need to start thinking on what exactly is going on that is causing the problems within your marriage and working to remedy those things. Consider some marriage counseling to help dig these issues to surface so they can be worked on. Especially because you have a child involved, it's imperative that you start looking at options to try and fix your marriage. The longer you wait, the harder it will be.

Prayer never hurts, but it also needs effort on both your parts.
