I have been doing a little research about the Sikh religion and find it quite interesting that it seems to be a sycretic faith that bridges Hinduism with Islam. Am I right or wrong?
I wouldn't say it bridges Hinduism with Islam. Sikh's worship one God, while Hindus worship numerous. Also, Muslims and Sikhs have a troubled history as well.
sikhism was formed as a bulkhead against islam by hindus. hindus had to give their firstborn sons to sikhism. when pakistan separated from india many sikhs were trapped in pakistan. the muslims in pakistan forced the sikes to convert to islam, but the sikhs maintained aspectes of sikism. the sikhs in india are not muslim.

However the one who started the Sikh religion, guru nanak, use to be a Hindu and then embraced monotheism. So there is technically still a bridge in regards to his original faith and newfounded faith.
