Good afternoon

Please note that i am intended to get married in the Greek Orthodox Church in Greece , i am catholic and was married before and got a annulments on my wedding from the catholic church and now i have the following documents in my hand.

1- Certificate Of Freedom from my catholic Church ( valid for 3 months ) stamped from my patriach , then translated into Greek , then stamped from the ministry of Foreign affair in my country + The Greek Embassy in my country.

2- Certificate of my previous Wedding Showing that my wedding is annulments and this certicate also will be from my catholic church and stamped from the Patriach , then translated into Greek , then stamped from the ministry of Foreign affair in my country + The Greek Embassy in my country.

3- My Baptisme Certicate translated into Greek , then stamped from the ministry of Foreign affair in my country + The Greek Embassy in my country.

4- Birth Certificate translated into Greek , then stamped from the ministry of Foreign affair in my country + The Greek Embassy in my country.

5- Valid Passport .

6- Visa valid .

From the below documents i have does the Greek Orthodox will accept to marry me again with my new wife , as far as i know that the Greek Orthodox Church do not recognize the CATHOLIC WEDDING and dont believe in it and i am ready to be BAPTIZED again in the Greek Orthodox Church and to marry again

Please help and advise if everything is OK for the documents and for the new wedding as i want a marriage blessed from Jesus.

Looking forward to hear from you

Your kind reply is higly appreciated

Best Regards

ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΕΣΤΗ!

I don't know if it is possible here in Greece for a Roman Catholic to get married in an Orthodox Church. Perhaps in exceptional circumstances. The best way to find out would be to contact the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.

By the way we asked a priest in Greece and said is Ok to get marry in our church but he must see the docs and i checked with many greek orthodox priests and they confirm the same , meantime , over the internet ... many were suggesting the wedding at the Greek Orthodox Church

This is really something that you would have to ask the local authorities. I honestly do not recommend you convert to Orthodoxy unless you really want to and know what that entails, you should not have to convert in order to get married.

As I mentioned before, you should contact the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. Only they will be able to tell you if your papers are correct. And you would have to get permission from the Marriage office of the Holy Synod in order to get married anyway.
