Soldiers, Cops Form Backbone of Growing Militia Movement

These militia people are so silly.

Mother Jones is part of the campaign tar the Tea Party as take your pick:

1. Racist.

2. A militia movement

3. Truthers, birthers, etc

4. Secessionist

Stock pile weapons/collect them, do everything legally,
and I have no problems.

Never trust your goverment completely.
But don't trust conspiracy theories either.

As long as you follow the law, then you have a right to fight if the goverment breaks the law.
Break the law before the goverment does, and you have nothing to complain about.

Speak out, before you act out.

They said that Obama was going to use H1N1 as an excuse to force Americans into "concentration camps". Never happened.

When some "Tea Party" people are forming militias due to non-existent threats and wackadoo conspiracy theories, they should be tarred.

I agree. I doubt that there's any real organization here.

But we should be concerned that some unstable crackpot(s) might be provoked by the paranoid rhetoric coming from the lunatic anti-government fringe. I can't say it had any effect on Joe Stack, but we know Tim McVeigh had many of those beliefs.

It's the deranged lone wolf who's most dangerous. And the hardest to stop.

What's so horrible about a group of law enforcement and military personel that affirms that will disobey unconstitutional orders?

The article acts like they're plotting a coup.

Would you rather have the police and army composed of Nuremberg Defense "just doin' my job" types who will follow any order whether right or legal or not?

Maybe some of the group's members are in tinfoil and black helicopters territory, but if any orders of the kind they fear come down (and they have, e.g. gun confiscation during Katrina) what is wrong with disobeying them?

I'm hoping I'm reading this wrong, but the 9/12ers are not the same as the 9/11 Truthers who are the ones who believe that 9/11 was an inside job.

Article makes it sound like these guys are a bunch of crackpots. There's nothing wrong with (legal) dissent and (legally) keeping an eye on the government.

Actually I kind of hope they do openly rebell and take most of the tea-"party" movement with them and are stamped out by pro-American forces. Then we won't have to hear from them for a while and the country will be better off with them gone.
