Some Christians believe that Jesus was only Spirit-spotless. ie he had pimples and other teenage maladies, was sometimes sick etc. That can't be true. The substance cannot be inferior to the shadow:

Lev 21:
16 And the LORD said to Moses,
17 "Say to Aaron, None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God.
18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,
19 or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand,
20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles;
21 no man of the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the LORD's offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
22 He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things,
23 but he shall not come near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am the LORD who sanctify them."

LOL, thats pretty funny andrew. All of those are preistly things because they are sinful men. I also urge you to realize that Christ could have had pimples, else he wasn't human and the bible lies to us saying he was a man like we were in terms of physicality.

quote: "Does that mean that the bride Jesus is going to return for will have no wrinkles and no pimples?"

That i'm not sure. I'm focusing on Jesus. I know our HIGH PRIEST was both spirit and bodily spotless when he walked on earth.

As our High Priest, he had to be without blemish.

As the Lamb of God, he had to be without blemish.

Malachi:
7* Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.
8* And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
12* But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13* Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.

if the bread, lambs and bullocks had to be physically uncorrupted - ie not sick, not lame, not blind etc --- how much more the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

and if the priests back then had to be without blemish -- ie no moles, no hunches, not broken noses etc -- how much more our High Priest Christ Jesus! I believe he was real handsome, macho and cool!

Actually, no, pimples do not form on a normal healthy body. They are caused by bacteria that feeds off an oily stuff called sebum when the sebaceous glands of the skin produces  an excessive amount of it. If the gland is functioning properly it does not produce an excessive amount of sebum and the bacteria does not have anything to feed off of.

There is also a condition that some people refer to as pimples on the body, that is actually a allergic reaction to a bug bite, like that from a bed bug or a dust mite. Again, bacteria plays a roll and the bite becomes infected. This kind of acme is easier to control, because you just need to use rubbing alchol to remove the bacteria from the skin so the bites do not become infected.

With regular acme, you have to remove the bacteria as well as remove the excessive sebum and remove any dead skin or anything that could be blocking the pours. It's a lot of work, and it can require the use of expensive cleansers.

There is a so called "friendly" bacteria that the body needs for digesting food. But other kinds of bacteria can attack the body and cause sickness. There is no indication anywhere that Jesus was ever sick. Many people feel He had divine health, and in fact many of us can have divine health also.

When the Bible says Jesus had a body like we have, that means it came from the dust or the clay of the earth and has the same weakness and limits that our body has. But there was provision under the law for health, and Jesus had good health. If under the law people could have good health, then how much more under grace for those who do not fall short of the grace of God.

Isaiah 53:2b

    He has no form or comeliness;
    And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

There was nothing special about the physical appearance of Jesus that would cause people to be drawn to Him. It was actually the miracles and the healing that drew so much attention to Him. Although His teaching could draw a lot of people also.

You can't be serious. Yes, they do. They can be a result of blocked poors. It is also something that many teenagers go through regardless of being healthy or not.

"There is a so called "friendly" bacteria that the body needs for digesting food. But other kinds of bacteria can attack the body and cause sickness. "

Umm...there is not such thing as a "friendly bacteria" if your intestine ruptures the bacteria will attack your body.

"But there was provision under the law for health, and Jesus had good health. "

I'm glad you think that, I view being in good health if you have pimples, or a cold. You can be in perfect health and get a pimple for that matter.

I agree. It reminds me of the people who claimed that Jesus never had to relieve Himself because that would be undignified. The only thing that is undignified is the trivial disscussion. Why does this matter?

that quote is when he was on the cross, not his earthly walk.

Song of Sol 5: Jesus was handsome, cool and macho!

9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

And you tell me there's " nothing special about the physical appearance of Jesus"?
Jesus is not the emaciated sissy looking man you find on some traditional paintings!

I can't believe I am being drawn into this one....

If pimples result from bacteria forming on the body or pores being clogged (both valid), then it is perfectly acceptable to think that Jesus may have had them. After all, he lived in a hot, humid desert climate that would induce sweating, and I doubt they had OXY or Noxema with which to bathe. So, chances are, even though this can't have any Biblical significance, he had pimples.

I'm so ashamed....

Take a look at this, and then see what you think.

Ephesians 5
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

After reading this, let's look around and ask ourselves if we see this Church anywhere.  Perhaps this is why He is tarrying.

Everyone is exposed to bacteria. The cause of pimples are over productive sebaceous glands. If the gland is functioning properly, then a person does not have pimples. The bacteria then feeds on the excessive amount of Sebun produced by the over productive glands. Sometimes this can be caused by a high level of hormones in the body. Sometimes the cause is unknown.

A lot of christians do not even know what a spot, blemish or a wrinkle is. It is our job to be able to explain the meaning of these symbols.

Jude 1:12a These are spots in your love feasts,

2 Peter 2:13b They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you,
