What are all of the differences, and how are they similar? Thanks.
Or rather should I say You Have the answer. Here we have a sister or brother asking what apprears to be an easy question to answer. But not you, are you too "busy" like the rest of the world, heck in the world it's hard to get the time of day. But this isn't the world is it then? Why then if your not too "busy" didn't you at least give them a link to follow? Or were you just too "busy"
The basic differences are that the Anabaptists tend to see the New Testament as having precedence over the Old Testament in moral and ethical teaching,
.That's only true for one small part of the Anabaptist family.
I would suggest anyone truly interested in Anbaptism do some research outside of this forum and not trust the word of one person with limited knowledge and a narrow agenda.
There are many good websites, such as thirdwaycafe.org, anabaptist.com and mennoniteusa.com that will start you on the path to truly understanding what Anabaptism is all about.
Well, that would be me. Today, just as the service came to a close the Pastors mother approached me and said, Lee, did you know that the Anabapists were the first church?, and that statement came from a Baptist. Not from any web site, So now I'm satified. My belief's?, God said it. I believe it. That Settles it. If you don't believe this well then, I don't know what to say. That's only true for one small part of the Anabaptist family.

Baptists sprung from a separatist movement within the mainstream of Protestantism, in particular English Protestantism. Anabaptism was essentially a "third way" during the Reformation, beinbg neither Catholic nor Protestant. Anabaptists developed their own ideas about spirituality fairly indepently of Protestantism -they were established before Calvinism and other important streams of Protestantism (the Protestants persecuted them).
That's interesting. Thanks.
The basic differences are that the Anabaptists tend to see the New Testament as having precedence over the Old Testament in moral and ethical teaching, they emphasize following Jesus, not just faith in Him for salvation, and they tend to practice a separation from the world, including popular culture and politics. These are generalizations of course, but they address the differences at the root between Baptists and Anabaptists.
probably anabatps didnt call the others christian, based on observation.so the Annabaptist was the first Christian church?
So all the herisies original all came from you.
uffdah
i didnt know that .
