Greetings all,

We often speak of "Going to Heaven" when we die. No one ever seems to question it, so... I'm asking.

Other than A=B, and B=C, therefore A=C, types of arguments, can anyone give me a good solid Biblical reason to say that Heaven is our eternal destiny?

Cheers,
Rick

One of the greatest deceptions in christianity is the concept of 'going to heaven'. Lucifer wanted to 'go to heaven'. Our destiny is either as part of the 'bride of Christ', or, friends of Christ in an eternal relationship with Christ and with God.

The destination of 'heaven' is a selfish concept that has it's roots in the self serving attitude of Lucifer. As such heaven is just another materialistic 'place' of self gratification.

Abraham didn't ask where he was going, he just went. He was shown the promised land at a later time.

Rebecca (the church) wasn't chosen to go to a place, but to a person, Isaac (Christ).

As for the location that we will occupy I think that the pattern of the tabernacle sheds some light. The outer court was reserved for the gentiles, which represents our present physical life on earth.

The 'most holy place' would represent our communion with God (as the immortal 'bride' or 'friend'), between the past mortal earthly dwelling and the third heaven of God. This of course is the created physical universe.????????

The holy of holies is the third heaven, the spiritual home of God, of which we will probably have limited access for special occasions.

Just thoughts of mine, not to be taken too seriously.
