Ivan and Emily sat to the side of the others. Carwain had brought some bread and cheese for them to eat and they all ate in silence. Emily watched Ivan and Ivan could tell that something was on her mind. Ivan shifted deep in thought. I guess I had better tell her. I'm leaving anyhow so it's not like I'll see her again. But... but if she knows my name it could hurt her. Emily moved closer to him putting a hand on his arm, "It looks as if you have something to tell me, John."

Ivan looked at her grimly and sighed, "I do."

Emily blinked, "What is it?"

Ivan looked towards Diamond. She was across the room talking to Jack. She was the only one present who knew his real name. Ivan sighed running his hand through his black hair in a nervous gesture, "I've got to tell you my real name. It's not John."

Emily shrunk back but didn't flee. She just sat there staring at him waiting for an explination, "If you're not John then who wrote all those letters."

"I did... well, John started them."

Emily gave him a perplexed look, "John? So there is a John?"

"Yes, John Sulzeman was my best friend."

"What do you mean by 'was'?"

Ivan frowned, "He was murdered by a band of robbers. I was badly beaten and left for dead. A kind man and his daughter found me and cared for me."

"If your name's not John then what is it? I know the Sulzeman family is a family of knights so that must mean you yourself are from a family of knights."

"I... my name is Ivan Katterling."

Emily was silent. She arched an eyebrow looking at him closely, "The Katterling family... weren't they exiled?"

Ivan grimaced, "Yes..."

Emily said nothing more for a while studying Ivan's face, "I don't believe you killed your friend... Ivan."

Ivan sighed with relief. Emily still sat a ways back from him looking up at him curiously. She studied his blue eyes in silence. Ivan shifted nervously under her gaze, unsure of what she was thinking. Finally, she spoke in a quiet voice almost like she was dreading the answer, "Why was your family exiled?"

Ivan felt his heart sink. The one thing she asked and the one thing he himself didn't know. His distress must have shone on his face because she frowned. He finally managed to stammer, "I... I don't remember. When I was 18 I was badly beaten. Everything before that's in kind of a blur. Some things are clear and others... are in a fog."

Ivan looked at her unsure if she was going to believe him. It was true though. He couldn't remember some things that happened before he turned 18.

*At the ball the evening before*

Fern gasped at the finery that surrounded her. She pulled Alex after her exclaiming at how pretty the flowers were and how nicely dress everyone was. She gazed around open mouthed at the ceiling, walls, floors, "I never knew this was what it was like inside a castle."

Alex laughed, "This isn't a castle, Fern, it's a mansion."

Fern gave him a disbelieving look, "Yeah, sure."

Alex grinned, "This is nothing compared to the gardens. Come, follow me."

Alex took her hand guiding her out into the gardens. The sun was setting, casting everything in a rosey red. Fern was just as impressed with the gardens as she had been with the interior of the mansion. They strolled along the paths talking between themselves when suddenly, Fern heard other voices. She stopped looking around. She didn't see anyone but the voices sounded close. Alex gave her a perplexed look as she moved closer to the hedge, "What are you doing?"

Fern held a finger to her lips and motioned him closer. They peered through the branches but could only see the backs of the men. Quietly they listened.

"They got away..."

"How could you let them get away? Now what are we going to use? As long as we had that girl that old fool would line our pockets with gold. He wouldn't even know that he was funding-"

"Yes, but we don't have her any more. The boy could have been used to persuade the others to our side. The people we need for us are still against us."

One man sneered, "Ivan would have been no use to us. He would have done something noble and saved the whole lot of them. We need someone who's fool enough to do what we tell them."

"We still have plans for tonight. All is not lost."

Alex pulled on Fern's arm. Fern looked up at him and saw that his face was pale, "We've got to get out of here, Fern. Now."

hey called, that "old fool" in the conversation that Fern overheard was Emily's father right?
----

Carwain calculated the time. By Saturday evening, he had some of his agents out of the city gate with the supplies necessary for the journey. It was planned that they would slip out on sunday night, for that was when the ball was due to open, and security was bound to be lax in such a feastive mood.

They were going to use the escape door through a tavern which was constantly watched with Intelligence agents. By the appointed time, they got ready to enter the back of the inn. Emily was still with the group after news leaked out from somewhere that she was in danger and her staying in town probably wouldn't do her much good. Maybe after things had calmed down a bit then she could return to the city.

The group moved shiftly through the uproarious common room. Several men were drinking at the bar when Diamond pounced on them, knocking a half concealed dagger in the man's hand. Ivan immediately reacted, pushing Emily further away from the fray, he jumped to Diamond's aid while Carwain waved his hands in the air. Instantly several seemingly drunken and senseless looking fellows leaped up from a nearby table and joined in the fight.
Diamond moved out of the way when a fellow shoved her back towards the exit backdoor. Diamond quickly assessed her surroundings, Emily was nowhere insight.

"Are you sure this's a good idea?" Emily asked anxiously as she emerged from the backdoor to the outside of Aliqua. Her long hair ruffled slightly in the evening breeze and her face was shadowed by the wall.
"They'll catch up quick, don't worry," Carwain assured her.

Cathrina walked around the very large home, in which she lived. Cathrina(preffers to be called Cathy) walked into the shop, that was built onto the house, making it even larger, just as her friend Ryan walked in.
"Good afternoon Ryan." she said.
"Why Cathy! I didn't know you had come home so soon! Whne did you get back?" Ryan asked.
"Oh, about a week ago." Cathy replied, her normal accent sliping through.(Her accent is hard, kind of like a Sounthern accent.)
"Still working on keeping your accent hidden?" Ryan asked, leaning on the counter with his arms crossed under his cheast.
"I'm trying harder than ever. Ma' say's I'm getting better. Are you here for your sisters blanket?"
"No, actually I'm not. I had promised your father that I'd cheak in a couple times, to make sure Lusha was okay. But, he didn't tell me you were here. I guess I don't need to cheak any more." Ryan said smiling. Cathy smiled.
"Would you like to come in? I'm sure Lusha wouldn't mind hearing another one of your stories over dinner."
"Thank you. Don't mind if I do."
Cathy walked back into the house, with Ryan following. Lusha walked down the stairs, and seeing Ryan she gasped.
"Ryan! I was wondering when you'd get around to comming back! You still haven't finished the story about the time when you were surounded by wolves."

Hey everyone! I would like to join, the only thing is I don't know what is going on! I mean, how many of you have enough of an attention span to read 26 pages of posts, all the while ready to tear your hair out because you're a perfectionist and grammar mistakes and misspellings drive you nuts? ;)
So, What's going on?
MY CHARACTER:

NAME:Celandine Brownlock
AGE:27
GENDER:Female
WEALTH:Average
HISTORY:Lives alone, in a small wooden apartment on the edge of town. Parents live in a small town a few hundred miles away, called Frell. One young brother that lives with parents.
DESCRIPTION: Sweet, though has a very short temper and liable to explode at any time. Like a time bomb. Has a soft spot for people in need, making her a sucker for lovestruck men poorer than her. But she never completely gives in. (yet...)
APPEARANCE: This is a good description of...ME! Blonde hair that is a little past shoulder length. It has golden blonde and bleach blonde highlights. (Making her a triple blonde, three times as ditzy as a usual blonde.) She wears it curly, and sometimes straight, with curled bangs. She has a fair complexity with lightly rosy cheeks. She has sideways-egg shaped eyes, deep chocolate brown. She has naturally-light-pink plump lips. Small ears.

I can't exactly post yet since I don't know what's going on. :help:

hello, is everyone silent? :)
----
ok, a quick summary...

The story originally was intended to lead up to a ball which was held after the great tournament.

Keisha was a lady who was in love with a knight called Marrco, he participated in the tournament.
but then everyone got sidetracked..

so, there was this girl named Emily who got captured by someone who wanted to use the girl to threaten her father into giving him money. Emily had a boyfriend named John, but she didn't know that John was actually dead and in his place was his best friend called, Ivan.

Diamond and Jack lived in the poor quatre of the city. They were thieves. Diamond was thrown into dungeon when she was caught "stealing" and Jack tried to rescue her. He later fell in love with her.

Carwain was Oridea's friend who was a friend of Emily's. To make it short, she, Ivan and Carwain rescued Emily and while escaping, they met Diamond and Jack who were also fleeing from the dungeon.

Then there're also two characters named Alex and Fern, but i'm vague as to their parts in the story. Sorry.

Now the group was residing in Carwain's Intelligence centre office, and he planned an escape plan for them as they were wanted in the city. So we're up to the point where Emily and Carwain just slipped outside the city wall, Diamond, Jack and Ivan were detained in the tavern by a group of men waiting for them. But all they needed was to slip out the back of the tavern.

sorry to any existing player if my description regarding your character was not correct. Feel free to add more. Special apology to Alex and Fern's players.

Celandine woke up to the soothing sound of the fresh spring rain. She got out of bed, and went over to the glass-paned window. It was raining, but it wasn't the gloomy rain that makes you want to hide in a dark room and read the works of Edgar Allen Poe, it was a delightful rain, light and sweetly scented with the fragrance of the spring. She opened the window slightly, and inhaled deeply. Then she quickly threw on a casual gown, a slim , blue dress with a lacy, almost spidery pattern of snowflake-like designs on the blouse-section.
She jammed some blue slippers on her feet to match her gown, and threw a blue shawl over her shoulders. She looked in the mirror, and almost didn't recognize herself. She never ever wore blue, it didn't really compliment her complexion, though it didn't look bad. But today, she needed to look like someone else. She went into her lavatory, and pulled out her cosmetic bag. She made sure she wasn't missing anything from the bag, then went back to her room. She pulled them out, looking at each one carefully. She chose very dark colors, to give her face an exotic look. Once she had applied these, she looked at the picture of a hairdo on her dressing-room table, and did her best to copy it, resulting in a french style of braid. She needed to look like someone completely different then her usual self, who chose warm colors, and wore her hair down, giving her face a soft look. But today she was in need of a disguise. After giving her face a last once-over, she went to her small desk, and proceeded to write a short letter explaining why she would not be able to work any more for the stable she worked for at the moment, where she was paid a decent amount to (ugh...) clean stables. She then grabbed her shopping basket, and briskly left the building. She walked through the streets of the town, stopping to place a loaf of bread or a few apples into her basket to avoid looking conspicuous. As she made her way to a small stable at the end of the street, she was disgusted at the drunkards and rapists sitting ont he side of the street, begging, and when she wemt by in her new attire, whistling. She mostly ignored them, but when one made a very crude and unnessecary remark, she couldn't stand it any longer. The time bomb detonated, and she made her way through the bustling crowd over to the drunk. She looked him squarely in the eyes as he asked her for a kiss. She looked to her left, looked to her right, and making sure that everyone could see what she was about to do, socked him hard on the left side of his face. And, being the kind soul that she is, once he was unconsious, she applied a fresh coat of deep red lipstick, and gave him the kiss he asked for.

I'm getting to the part where she comes into the story. Consider that an intro to Celandine Brownlock. ;)
