But Christ, and His message, still outdate him by about 3000 years ;)
 Lyle, you have me confused here....I was under the impression that our current calendar A.D. Anno Domine, was based upon the supposed year of the birth of Jesus? Would it not, therefore, be impossible for Christ or his message to outdate anything or anyone by anything over 2004 years?

Actually, many people think Jesus was born slightly in B.C.

My only guess is that he was basing his idea on the trinity belief. Based on the trinity, Jesus has been around since god has been, just not in a flesh form.

The problem with that is that although jesus may have been around for as long as god, Similar stories of what he did in the flesh were around before he was born.

Maybe it's not the root of the date or some of the traditions, but where the heart is placed that matters? I could choose to set aside October 31st to celebrate Christ's sacrifice if I wanted, and would it really make a difference if the day is set aside in true celebration of one's beliefs?

It seems to me to be kind of a moot point.

My best understanding was that He was born 2 BC. Jesus was from the beginning. Explain you last paragraph. I do not understand fully.
