  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Clinton, Bush, Obama and war crimes

I will admit I under estimated. Can you admit you exaggerated as well? Only 100,000 died instantly, 440,000 "survived": "On the morning of the bombing, 6-year-old Tanaka, her clothes clean and her hair brushed, was standing in the street with friends before heading to school. Moments after the...

As I get older, I seem to be developing ADD. No insult intended, I just get distracted easily, sorry. Am reading now, just Truman came to mind at the beginning...

None of them had specifics of the tortured portion of their population in 1940. In a study published in 1996, historian Mitsuyoshi Himeta claims that the Three Alls Policy, sanctioned by Emperor Hirohito himself, was both directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of "more than 2.7...

Hyperbole is not obvious history. These links say nothing of tens of millions. There weren't even tens of millions in total living in the whole Pacific Rim at the time. Please. No precision weapons aren't even a comparison to an atomic bomb. And it never was a question of how many civilian...

Boston marathon bombing: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev charged

Though true in theory, unfortunately there isn't any kind of universal court of human beings. Some countries don't have trials by juries. Trial by jury in the US is defined by the US Constitution. And since his ALLEGED crimes were committed here, then our rule of law (the Constitution) applies.

Tens of millions? Source, please. Still begs the question, who are we to say some lives are not as valuable (Japanese) as others. It's ok to murder some innocent lives to save others?

Last man, yes. It is dishonorable to have women and children do men's work, fighting. If it was in their culture to go down fighting, why did they surrender even after the mass destruction of their two cities? And indeed we will never know how many, perhaps not as many as some think. But we...

And you need to check your history, as leaflets were dropped mentioning TWELVE cities! And Hiroshima was NOT one of them. You really think the unproven hypothesis of mass suicides was worth the fact of hundreds of thousands of severely burned, maimed people? Do you really think it was for...

Um, not everyone would have committed mass suicide. "90% of the doctors and 93% of the nurses died in the blast", archived documents at Truman Library. Women and children died, too. Doubt they were planning on it, either.

The argument has been made, weak as it is. So who's life is more valuable? Ask the survivors with maimed limbs and charred skin. I mean survivors of Hiroshima, not Boston...

Can Harry Truman, with Hiroshima et al, be thrown in? War or no war, the point of terrorism is to influence governments by means of attacking civilians. After all, the US has declared war on terrorism, which makes us their enemy, too.

Boston marathon bombing: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev charged

If he's a "vile man" without even being convicted, why have a trial? I understand the presumption of innocence does not apply to personal opinion. However, I hope intelligent, clear headed people will at least try to avoid this "mob-revenge" mentality long enough to hear all the facts. Remember...

Should Clarence Thomas recuse himself from hearing cases on conservative issues?

Why's that a problem . . . unless said "strong financial interest in outcome" would make a jurist partial?
