  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How does an Eternal Hell make sense if Christ's purpose was to end death/suffering?

Thanks everyone for the great replies - a lot of things for me to think over. I love seeing the variety of perspectives on this. I do have another question, though - if the vast majority of people go to Hell, why would any Christian have children? It honestly is making me consider not having...

How does an Eternal Hell make sense if Christ's purpose was to end death/suffering?

I'm really struggling with the concept that the vast majority of humanity will be subjected to unspeakable torments for all eternity. We know that Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden was not God's purpose for humanity, and that the Fall of Man and the ensuing mess and Christ having to redeem us...

    Sexism and Religion

There are massive differences between the males and females of every species of animal on Earth. Humans are not exempt. The logical conclusion (which nature shows us is correct) is that men and women do tend to fit better into certain roles. To deny this is simply naivete and political...

    Assaisins Creed Games?

The Assassin's Creed series is very anti-Christian, but not for any of the reasons you mentioned. What you mentioned extremely mild compared to many points made throughout the game's plotlines. Such things include: lines such as "Acts of man are always better than acts of God", a few...

    Dragon Age

Huge fan of Bioware games. Just finished the Mass Effect series, so will be diving into the Dragon Age series next.

Is gaming an idol in your life?

I think it's pretty easy to laugh topics like this off, but I think it's legitimately a problem, especially for many younger people. I used to play video games so excessively that it was pushing 40-50+ hours a week. It got to the point that I'd play video games instead of spending time with God...

How did Barack Obama become Monsanto’s man in Washington?

Fascism is often defined as the merging of state and corporate power. By that definition, Obama (along with most other establishment politicians - both Democrats and Republicans) could be considered fascists. Very sad to see Obama continue to align himself with such organizations. Monsanto is...

Four in five Americans face poverty, unemployment

I think it's pretty obvious that something major is going to happen with the American, and world, economy within the next 10 years, probably sooner. The level of debt accumulation is completely unsustainable. Anyone ever heard Lindsey Williams? Heard him on the radio a while back, talking...

    Christians 'emptied from Middle East'

Wow, that's some pretty hardcore conspiracy theory stuff. But it comes from a reputable source, a retired general and a now politician. I searched around and have yet to find a rebuttal to the contents of that video. One would think such a serious claim on his part would invoke more of a response.

    Nasa Finds Life On Mars!!!!

Mars is incapable of supporting complex life. It does not have an active core like the Earth does, which means it doesn't produce a protective magnetic field around the planet which would protect it from life killing solar radiation. At most, microscopic life deep underground might exist. Of...

Franklin Graham: God May Have to Cause "A Complete Economic Collapse" to Save Nation

You bring up some good discussion points, but I think you'd be better off asking these things on a different forum, as your post is a bit off topic here. Well said, the Lord will provide for us, just as He always has. Perhaps an economic collapse would even be a good thing for America - it...

Persecution of Christians in tech sector?

I'm a freelance web developer right now but am looking to get a full time job at a company. Based on the Slashdot community (99% of them are extremely hostile to religion and Christianity in particular), my past experiences of working in the software industry, and friends who are currently in...

    War with Israel

BlandOatmeal, thank you for making this topic. It is nice to have a place where I can get all the updates on the Israel situation in one place. Just out of curiosity, when do you think Israel will finally attack Iran over its nuclear weapons program? It's got to happen eventually, right...

"Most important show in my 15 years of radio", Alex Jones, Two Days Ago - Discuss

Nobody suggested that they didn't exist before the World Cup. My post just reflected my surprise that things had taken a sharp turn for the worst after the World Cup. Most of the stories I heard were from actual people from South Africa. A good friend of mine from high school had emigrated...
