  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Friendship with God's People

Unfortunately, this is too true. As for the divisions, and "fixing" those "other" believers--it is so easy to get sidetracked by the "nuts and bolts" of of respective faiths; and forget about the coming Kingdom. For myself, I am trying to please God more, but how better could I please him...

"Jesus fulfilled the law ... we aren't under it"

This is a fascinating thread. Thanks, Yod. As one who is being drawn toward Torah observance, this thread has been a blessing for me. The questions and points raised by SWalsh are questions brought up in my own mind from time to time. As a person coming from the "typical?" Christian...

Speaking in tounges ONLY evidence of salvation?

Yehuda; Hi there! Actually, we've been all over the place as Chrisitans. We left the Baptist church obout a year ago, and have been worshipping here and there. My Uncle is a Pentecostal minister, and I went to one of his services a couple of weeks ago. He was also talking about how...

    Ladies Only, Please.

I have a couple of questions: Obviously, no touching is in order for at least 7 days from the beginning of the menses. I can't tell from scripture quoted whether or not this should be 14 or not. Do we need to observe this? Havn't we been "washed" in the Blood of the Lamb? Which is the...

Speaking in tounges ONLY evidence of salvation?

Yehuda; Thanks for your post. As a Baptist/COC (upbringing), tounges wasn't really discussed and was just something that 'happened in other religions' or so it seemed. This aspect of the gifts/manifestations of the Holy Spirit has been coming up again and again in my worship and fellowship...

Which mitzvot and how? (Category: Poor and Unfortunate)

I think a few ways we can obey these rules in todays culture are to give money to the beggars, donate to food banks, whether or not you feel "deserving" people go there. I think giving our tithe to the church is overlooked, as a whole, and that the poor suffer as a result ( I know tithing isn't...

Speaking in tounges ONLY evidence of salvation?

I think that is why many people who have indeed received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit have never spoken in tongues. They weren't taught that it is something you yield to and participate in. They are led to believe that God will just "take you over" and "make you say things". This is exactly...
