  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shalom everyone..I'm back from the dead..or at least what it felt like.
The Flu is the worst!!!

Anyway..I'm just wondering what other people think about sickness. 7 days ago..I was talking with my in-laws about the FLU shot. I told them that I believed Yeshua would take care of me, and I don't need one.

Well..1 day later..BAM..I got the flu. Now..was this a test..or maybe a lack
of true faith, or maybe just a coincidence?

I'm also wondering about healing. While having the Flu, my Hubby prayed...I prayed..and there were others I know prayed for a fast healing, but...I didn't get better any faster. That may sound a bit selfish, but being pregnant with the Flu..that's just no party. :sigh:

So tell me...What do you think about Sickness or even healing. Todah....Just me

Shalom Ahavah, you are basically saying that the prayer didn't work? Because you:
but...I didn't get better any faster.

so may I ask how do you know? A regular cold can last 9-10 days, and the flu, I have heard of cases that lasted weeks. For a woman that is pregnant and with two other little ones to worry about and also being germ carriers themselves I would say you did shake that bug sooner rather than later! Maybe it wasn't in your acceptable timeframe but I don't believe Yeshua ignored all those who came to him for you for a healing.

Now another thing is, did you wake up each day and say, Oy! I still feel lousy, or did you say, Baruch HaShem, thank you for making me feel just a little bit better today!
?

;)

Happy that you are feeling better now

Hi, Ahavah

I'm glad you started this thread--I've been thinking about it, but couldn't figure out quite how to say it!

The thing that confuses me is that when Yeshua and the talmidim prayed for healing, it was instantaneous. There was no waiting for several days for things to eventually get better--it happened right away. Then it says that we'll do these things, too, and even greater things. I don't think it's selfish to ask to be delivered from the flu--Yeshua has already conquered sickness and disease. Why should the flu stick around for a few days when paralysis, leprosy, and blindness all were healed instantly?

And I have battled my own attitude during a sickness, too. I've noticed that I do tend to feel better overall when I don't drag around the house complaining about how awful I feel. But I would still have symptoms that were, in some cases, very difficult to deal with and, of course, uncomfortable. I don't think it's all about attitude. There's something more that I'm missing...

I'm looking forward to everyone's comments, and reading Erin's thread.

Forgive me, my wife is impatient and she gets alot of it from me. ;) But here is a testimony for you all. Not once did I feel sick. And I was in the same germ infested clinic as ishti. My whole family went down one by one, but I remained healthy as per my prayers. I prayed for my mishpocha to be healed and for me not to be affected. HaSatan tempted me every day constantly saying "your gonna get sick" "your getting sick" "your kids can die" "even your unborn one". I ignore him. I believe Abba over him anyday of the week.

Why didn't he heal us immedietly? We have some thoughts as to this. People who take vacinations are preventing themselves from the full dose of the flu. We who do not vacinate catch full doses and it makes us all that more stronger. When vacines aren't around and the world system that is relied on for so much has fallen, those who did not receive the vacines will be more able to withstand sicknesses. We have been conditioned, prepared by Adonai. Made to suffer but not destroyed, pressed but not crushed. All for the glory of Adonai. The same "religiously" I sense. Those who receive teaching from healers of the world (pastors, rabbi) will not be able to stand in the day of Adonai. They will have ingested a part of truth so as to make them feel "whole" and "well" while rejecting ALL the truth no matter how much it hurts or you are persecuted. And when the vacinations are no longer given out (world religions), and the trial that will come over the whole world hits (Ya'akov's Trouble) only those who did not receive the vacinations will survive. Because they remained steadfast in the Truth and did not waiver to accept a false anecdote that makes you feel better for the moment but in the end leads to your death.

We must always remember that G-d is soveriegn

It is in his nature and will to heal us to his glory
But I am convinced that sometimes he allows us a taste of sickness
or hard time to get our attention.

Case in point here
Your husband prayed with you or over you?

Either way he should always be doing both!
Does he?
Daily?

Now this is for conviction my sister ok not condemnation
Just as Job suffered and drew closer to G-d in the end
so to us. Now if I was your husband I would lay hands on you daily
and bless you daily and pray over you and with you daily.

Give this some thought And you should be praying for your husband daily
and blessing his commings and his goings but some how I suspect this you do already.

You will get better
And your baby will be healthy

Have no fear!

Blessings

Erin I was paralleling vacinations with sin. Not equating them. And I was not giving a prophetic word. I was expressing my opinion "We have some thoughts as to this." "The same "religiously" I sense." (I feel, my thought).

Yet, does it NOT say in the Bible that only those without sin will survive? That if you live according to your old nature (sinful) you will CERTAINLY DIE. You should know my position on being Kadosh and called out of this world system by now I would imagine. About not appearing or acting like the rest of this crooked world but just the opposite by the power and to the glory of Elohim. I mean come on, even the saying under your name quotes the verse

16 So from now on, we do not look at anyone from a worldly viewpoint. Even if we once regarded the Messiah from a worldly viewpoint, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation - the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new!

What really matters is that we live pure and blameless lives until HaMoshiach returns. We are to live clean, innocent lives as children of Elohim in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Letting our lives shine brightly before them. Fixing our thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Thinking about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians)

Do I believe you will die because of your willingness to adhear to wordly ways? In the end you may, but grace gives you a chance to repent till then. And as for condemnation and judgement, that comes from Elohim. I only try to mirror him. Point to him. I don't try to be him. Yet I definitly see you have something to think about? I believe if Elohim wanted someone to help he would make it possible. No matter what. Meaning, if it means getting a vaccination to serve others in another country. And you do it only to reach them. I believe Adonai will protect you from the final outcome. Especially if it was his will to send you their in the first place. But I believe if you place your faith in these drugs and administers of such as a viable alternative to Adonai's protection. I think you will be saddly mistaken in the end. My thoughts. Sorry if they have offended you Erin.

If I am not laying hands on ishti every day i'd say I have a problem. She is beautiful!! ;) And prayer is a vital part of our relationship with Abba. It's done in a myriad of ways throughout the day. Our minds should NEVER be apart from Elohim, we should be thanking him for all we have every breath we take. And asking him to guide our seconds. This would include if we are sick. To guide us out of it. By miracle or by deed. Show me the way. If your not in constant communication with Elohim, just who are you talking to? And about what? When I talk to ishta or any of my mishpocha or anyone. Is not Elohim right there listening? Are we not to speak his words in our home, along the way, when we rise and when we lay down? If Rabbinical Orthodoxy takes such things literally as to place Tefillim on ones arms and heads why do they not take it literal to speak of him with every breath? Do they not realize that every idle word will be judged according to Torah?

PG, of course I pray for my mishpocha daily. When should I not be in conversation with Adonai?

I believe divine healing still occurs today. I also believe that God gives certain individuals the gift of healing. Hopefully you will find a doctor who has this gift. If people go to such a man they will tend to get better. (This might be called a clue) If a number of people who go to a certain doctor don't get better (this might be another clue), then this doctor probably doesn't have a gift of healing.

As far as sickness, it is wrong to assume that just because you are sick, then there is something wrong with your faith. It is also wrong to assume that because you stay sick there is something wrong. Why don't you ask God what's up.

Found this and thought it was a wonderful thing to share:

Heal us, O Lord, and we shall be healed; save us, and we will be saved, for the one we praise is You. Bring complete healing for all our sicknesses, [* at this point, you may interject a prayer for one who is ill, see above], for O God, for You are our faithful and compassionate Healer and King. Blessed are you, Lord, the Healer of the sick of Israel.

Note:
Although there is no “magic formula” for asking for healing from the LORD, as followers of the Mashiach Yeshua we have faith that if we ask anything according to His will, God will hear us (1 John 5:14-15). Our Heavenly Father knows the number of the hairs on our head and is intimately familiar with all of our aches and pains. He knows us when we are hurting; He knows the nature of our pain perfectly; He alone is the only One who can truly bring us lasting remedy from our afflictions.

Relief from suffering is often a great desire within us. There are many who seek to escape from the pain by means of drugs, sex, fantasies, or other means.

Sometimes we are called to endure the hardship and carry the burden of unrelenting pain. Sometimes God lays upon us afflictions in order to humble us and bring us to the “end of ourselves” and to the end of our resources.... This is a hard discipline to be subjected to, and only God has the wisdom to impart such instruction to the human heart. Our responsibility is always to look to Him and be saved.

We should always strive to live and grow and flourish as long as God gives us strength. We need to remember that we live in a fallen world where death and decay are part of our present experience. We groan as we await the fullness of our promised redemption through the resurrection of our bodies. Yes, though the “outward man perishes,” yet the “inward man” is renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16-5:7). We must hold fast to our confession of faith and continue to believe that our true healing and everlasting remedy has been secured by the sacrificial death of Yeshua haMashiach on our behalf.

If you are enduring affliction presently, pray and ask the LORD to heal you. If relief does not immediately come, continue to trust that your Heavenly Father does indeed see you and will work all things together for your ultimate good and His ultimate glory.

So glad you are feeling better! I'd say you were healed...you aren't sick now, right? Whether it is by the laying of hands, instantaneously, or the miracle of our bodies that
G-d created, healing through whatever means it has to regenerate, or medicines, it is a miracle and surely a blessing. From reading your posts, I don't get the notion you are lacking in faith. Continue your walk in the Spirit, and enjoy your health!

Ahavah,

Yikers! I feel so bad for you, you poor thing.

I do believe you were healed, however. I had the flu last year that lasted 4 weeks, and some of the symptoms hung around for about 6 months (sore throat, stuffy head, hoarse voice.)

Sometimes, I think more is accomplished through illness than we know. Have faith that after making that statement with such confident faith, Yahweh will never let you down.

Shalom.
