As a young boy I used to watch In Search Of with my father. It instilled an early fascination with "the unknown". About the time I was becoming an adult, stories of UFO's and aliens reached a fever pitch in the late 80's and into the 90's, with people like Whitley Strieber and Bob Lazar. Eyewitnesses came out of the woodwork, claiming to have seen things at Area 51 and at Roswell. I spent a lot of time reading every tidbit I could get my hands on the subject. I even owned many of the books. I soaked it all up like a sponge.
Aliens still haven't landed on the Whitehouse lawn. We still have no real irrefutable proof. It always remains elusive, just out of our reach. Sure, we have videos, but what do videos prove if they can be faked?
So here's my thinking, after having believed it most of my life. It is a clever deception designed by Satan to divert people away from God.
Scripture says that Satan is transformed into an angel of light. Is Paul pointing to a future deception?
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Many think Satan's end time deception will be a Project Blue Beam scenario that brings in a New World Order, or the antichrist, leading up to the second coming. Some think that Satan will fake the second coming, playing the role of Jesus himself, and that aliens will not be involved.
I do not believe in aliens, nor will I believe in Satan disguised as Jesus if he appears on the earth as an angel of light.
We have detailed descriptions of the events to take place. Jesus is coming in the clouds and every eye will see Him. The sky will roll away like a scroll. There will be a great earthquake and mountains and islands will be moved. There will be massive sized hail.
If a being appears in any other way as an angel of light, and claims to be Jesus, just as He warned in Matthew 24, then do not believe it, and do not go to see him.
Getting back to the subject of UFO's and aliens... I do believe there are created beings on other worlds, but I think it's evident that God is not allowing us to interact with them due to our sinful state; and they are not allowed to interact with us. Surely, if God created other beings, and if they have not fallen, they would be kept safe. God's unfallen created beings would not be abducting people and doing experiments on them. They wouldn't be flying to earth to watch us; the angels do that invisibly. There is literally no reason for any of God's unfallen creation to visit our world until sin is dealt with.
