  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No. In any case, the point remains. The US Military should not be killing suspected criminals.
We have been using the coast guard for drug interdictions for a long time. Last I heard the coast guard was part of the military.

What evidence have you seen? And no, Hegseth or his spokesperson making a claim is not evidence.
Obviously more than you. May I suggest looking for news elsewhere?

Yes, the Coast Guard is interdicts and provides an opportunity for the suspects to surrender and face prosecution. The US Military is being ordered to summarily kill suspects.

That is true but the coast guard is authorized to use deadly force if necessary and am sure that there has been those times in the past.

“When the United States military launched an airstrike on a speedboat as it approached the southern shore of the Dominican Republic last month, killing three people on board, Dominican authorities said more than 375 packages of cocaine went flying into the Caribbean Sea.
Dozens of them had red packaging with a brand name clearly labeled in black and white capital letters, MEN, according to photos distributed by the Dominican anti-narcotics agency.
The 1,000 kilos of cocaine recovered from the wreckage were added to the nearly 19,000 kilos of drugs the Dominican Republic’s anti-narcotics agency had already captured since January, in what had been a record-setting year of narcotics seizures at sea before U.S. warships moved into the region.”

Should our military be killing terrorists?
Our military didn't kill the terrorist responsible for January 6th. Why would they be killing people, that's not in this country , minding their own business. We're they selling drugs , who knows. But typically, we're not supposed blow people up. Unless fighting.

Two “narco-terrorists” were killed in the strike off Colombia’s coast Tuesday, he said. The latest strike raises the death toll from the administration’s attacks to at least 34 people.

There was a lot of money made in human trafficking during the Biden administration and the money the crime organizations now have to push drugs is going to make this a long war.
Trp is using our armed forces to commit murder. It is shameful.

Our military was hardly going to kill the Speaker. Recall that one of the terrorists the Obama administration authorized killed was an American citizen and his father sued. But the court decided it was within presidential power to do so.

Not if they weren't convicted.
If nations have to capture and put on trial terrorists responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, then how would nations prevent their citizens from being killed by the hundreds of thousands due to illegal drugs?
If I'm choosing between our people and drug smugglers, drug pusher, and narco cartels, then I am choosing our people each and every time.

And Obama sent the military to kill a family man with kidney problems sleeping in his private residence during the night without any trial or conviction. And then brags about it on TV!
