Well, if "the day of judgment" is held before Jesus in Heaven, I guess everyone will go to Heaven . . . in order to be judged. But will they all stay there?Just heard this argument, and listened to this argument again, and I will say that I think all roads lead to judgement, so if your thinking that they all lead to God, then you might be correct, but maybe just not the way you think maybe.
Satan has been in Heaven, but he did not stay there!! Pride had a lot to do with why Satan could not stay in Heaven.
So - - how each person is becoming is important. However we have been becoming in this life is how we will be resurrected to so much more. You reap so much more than you have been sowing, and how you are reaped in the resurrection will be so much more intense. There are people who have become more and more nasty, while others have become more and more humble and all-loving. And how we are, by the time we die, is how we will be reaped so much more > according to what I get through Galatians 6:7-8 >
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." (Galatians 6:7-8)
And yes . . . of course, then . . . at judgment God will evaluate how we are ***in our character***. If we have become conformed to the image of Jesus, we will be compatible with Jesus as our Groom so we can spend eternity with Him. And it is written >
"Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)
What I get is that by becoming perfected in God's love, this conforms us to the image of Jesus. And this makes us ready so we have "boldness in the day of judgment". Even now, in this world > because of how God is perfecting us in His love > "as He is, so are we in this world." So, yes we can have Biblical assurance that we are saved and ready for Jesus.
But >
My opinion is that because we are not 100% like Jesus, we can not now be 100% sure . . . because we still are not "100%" perfect. However - - - because God is proving Himself in us, by growing us to be like Jesus and to love like Jesus, this gives us assurance that He really is preparing us to spend eternity with Jesus. We grow in this, and so we grow in our assurance. You can be fairly confident that you might make it in, but if there is truly not even one shred of doubt, then it is sin,
And I note how John says "we" and "us" > we have this assurance while sharing with God in His own love . . . as His family. So, sharing as His family helps us in our assurance that we are preparing to be with God as His family for eternity. So, assurance is not going to come very well while anyone is mainly concerned only about one's own self being saved. Because God is all-loving and His love has us not only isolated in caring about our own selves, but this all-loving love has us caring about others as ourselves, and this in family intimacy and affection. We minister this perfection in Christ and His maturing assurance to one another.
