What about

Acts 20:7 - “On the first day of the week we gathered to break bread.”
The broke bread every day Acts 2:46 , doesn't say it removes God's sanctification or removes God's Sabbath commandment. Thats adding what clearly not there
Revelation 1:10 - “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.” The term “Lord’s Day” refers to the day belonging to the Lord, that is, Sunday - the day of Christ’s resurrection.
No where in this Text does it say day one is the Lords Day, That is adding to God's word Pro 30:5-6 I would consider not doing.

God already told us His holy day and it is the holy day of the Lord, thus saith the Lord, so there is no other. The counterfeit always comes after the original do not let one cheat us Col2:8

Isa 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

The Didache (late 1st century):
“On the Lord’s own day, gather and break bread.”
Not in Scripture. What we were warned about Isa8:20
Ignatius of Antioch (c. 107 AD):
“Those who have come to the possession of a new hope no longer observe the Sabbath, but live in observance of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again through Him.” (Letter to the Magnesians 9:1)
Not in Scripture. What we were warned about Isa8:20

Justin Martyr (c. 150 AD):
“On the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place… because it is the first day on which God made the world, and Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead.” (First Apology 67)
Not in Scripture. What we were warned about Isa8:20

Your church admits it changed the Sabbath based on their authority over the word of God. Just as we were warned would happen Dan7:25
Q. Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

A. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; —she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.
—Rev. Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism; New York in 1857, page 174
Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
—Rev. Peter Geiermann C.SS.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50

They even admit this act is a mark of their authority over God's

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

Strawman.

The house of Israel. We keep going over this over and over. And even the verses tell you who the covenant is with. Why do you ignore scripture?

The commandments are the two from Jesus not from the law. Still waiting on that post crucifixion verse that requires the Christian to keep the Sabbath.
Rev22:14-15 shows a lot more than 2 commandments that guards the gates of heaven.

All summarized in the two commandments of Jesus.
The summary does not delete the details. Much like the Constitution is summarized by justice, but does that delete each of the amendments, of course not. Love to God, love to man never went undefined in Scripture. Why you almost always see the Ten Commandments repeated right before the summary Dut 6:5 Deut 5 Rom 13:9 James 2:8-12 Mat 19:17-19 etc

Christ fulfilled (completed) the details. Christ did not fulfill the constitution.

Look, if I murder, I don’t love God or my neighbor and the Spirit convicts me. You see how it is supposed to work?

BTW- if I worship on Sunday, I love both God and my neighbor. I’ll invite both for some grilled pork ribs. You see how this works.

Yes, the ceremonial shadow sabbaths.

Not THE Sabbath commandment, that was given before sin that started at Creation Exo 20:11 and was part of God's perfect plan before a need for a plan of salvation. All of the food and drink offerings and feast days that some were annual sabbaths God took away at the Cross. The weekly Sabbath continues as God does not change, its is THE holy day of the Lord thy God, thus saith Lord Isa 58:13, why we see the Sabbath being kept decades after the Cross by the apostles and Gentiles Acts 13:42, Acts 13:44 Acts 15:21 Acts 18:4 and in the New Heaven and New Earth Isa 66:22-23

I pray you do not think God the Creator of heaven and earth Exo 20:11 Rev 14:7 and our Sanctifier Eze 20:12 is a shadow. We are told many would misunderstand Pauls writings that may cost dearly 2Peter3:16

Pssst. The verse does not include the word shadow so now you are adding to the word of God.

Not at all its in the context

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The weekly Sabbath points to our Creator Exo 20:11 and was before sin part of God's perfect and original plan before the fall of man. The annual sabbaths, feasts days new moon festivals etc were all added after sin and was never part of God's perfect plan why they were shadows pointing forward to Christ.

Its literally the context, but believe as you wish.

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

which what is? Without Col2:16, vs 17 has no context.
Still waiting for that verse though.
Keep telling yourself that.

I would be more concerned about where God abrogated His 4th commandment when no Scripture in context says this. God blessed, only God can reverse and He plainly does not. Isa 66:22-23

Doing what those before us that didn't work out well, is not the solution to reconciliation Eze 20:13 Eze 22:26 Heb4:11

Guess it will get sorted out soon enough.

It is not literally the context. The shadow of things to come is future while not judging the things listed including the sabbaths is present. Now you are twisting plain grammar.

Which are shadows- what are shadows without the previous verse. This is an easy one.

Its point to Heb 10:1-10 which tells us why these are shadows and points to Christ. Its all the same context as in Heb9:10-15

Why NSAB used — because its pointing to the key idea of the previous verse

16 Therefore, no one is to [a]act as your judge in regard to food and drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon, or a Sabbath [b]day 17 things which are only a shadow of what is to come; but the [c]substance [d]belongs to Christ.

Why KJV used:

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

In this verse, the colon connects two related but distinct ideas:

  1. Before the colon — Paul gives a command:
“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day...”
He’s saying: Don’t let anyone condemn or pressure you over religious observances — dietary laws, festivals, or sabbaths — all of which were part of the Old Testament law.
  2. After the colon — Paul explains why:
“Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”
These Old Testament rituals were shadows — symbolic previews of Christ and the new covenant reality that He brought.

1. The Context of Colossians 2:16–17

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

Paul is addressing Gentile believers in Colossae who were being pressured by some teachers to adopt Jewish ceremonial practices — dietary laws, feast days, and sabbaths — as necessary for salvation or spiritual growth.

2. Understanding “Sabbath Days”

The key phrase here is “sabbath days” (Greek: sabbaton).
This word can refer to:

  • The weekly Sabbath (the 7th-day Sabbath from the 4th Commandment, Exodus 20:8–11), or
  • The ceremonial sabbaths — annual feast-day sabbaths (like the Day of Atonement or Feast of Trumpets) described in Leviticus 23, which were part of the Mosaic ceremonial law.

To discern which Paul means, we look at the pattern of the verse.

⚖️ 3. The “Triad” Pattern of Jewish Holy Times

Paul lists:

“holyday … new moon … sabbath days”

That exact pattern appears several times in the Old Testament, such as:

  • 1 Chronicles 23:31
  • 2 Chronicles 2:4
  • Hosea 2:11
  • Ezekiel 45:17

In those passages, the sequence “festival (holyday), new moon, sabbath” refers to the Jewish calendar of ceremonial observances:

  • Annual feasts (holy days),
  • Monthly new moons,

✝️ 4. What Paul Is Actually Saying

Paul’s point is:

“Don’t let anyone judge your standing with God based on these shadow observances — food laws, feasts, and sabbaths — because they pointed to Christ.”

These rituals were shadows of the substance (reality)Christ Himself.
The sacrificial system, feast days, all foreshadowed Jesus’ redemptive work.
Once Christ came, the shadows were fulfilled and no longer binding as ceremonial requirements.

️ 5. What About the 4th Commandment Itself?

The weekly Sabbath from the 4th Commandment (Exodus 20:8–11) was established at Creation, not as a “shadow” of Christ, but as:

  • A memorial of creation (Genesis 2:2–3),
  • A sign of God’s covenant (Exodus 31:16–17),
  • A gift of rest for humanity (Mark 2:27).

So Paul’s statement in Colossians 2:16–17 isn’t abolishing the moral law (the Ten Commandments).
He’s contrasting the ceremonial shadows with the living reality of Christ.

Summary

ConceptDescription
“Sabbath days”Refers primarily to ceremonial sabbaths (yearly feast days) tied to sacrifices and rituals.
“Shadow of things to come”These observances pointed forward to Jesus’ sacrifice and ministry.
The 4th CommandmentThe weekly Sabbath predated the Law of Moses; it is not a shadow, but part of God’s moral law.
Paul’s intentTo warn believers not to let anyone judge or condemn them over ceremonial religious observances now fulfilled in Christ.

Yes, we cannot, in your conceptualization where Scripture is viewed narrowly.
Scripture must be viewed in the light of all Scripture (Jn 6:65, 37, 39).

Jn 6:65 - No one can come to me unless the Father enables him.
Jn 6:37 - All that the Father gives me will come to me (all do not come because all are not given to him).
Jn 6:39 - I shall lose none of all that he has given me.

Those whom the Father gives to him (the born again) are never lost.

Christ himself is our sabbath - therefore we fulfil the 4th commandment in our Sunday celebration of new creation.
Yes, Jesus is another Sabbath (Heb 4:8), the one remaining for the people of God (Heb 4:9), our full-time (Heb 4:4) Sabbath rest (Heb 4:8-10) from our own works to save and in his work which saves to the uttermost (Heb 7:25).

So if the adjective “shadow” on verse 17 modifies what is listed in verse 16 then it would be shadow meat, shadow food, shadow drink, shadow festival, shadow new moon and shadow sabbath, right?

God said in the Ten Commandments which is God’s Laws. Exo 20:11 when His Sabbath started. Why Remember is used because you don’t remember or bring to mind, something that never happened before and God said verbatim in His commandments, when His Sabbath started at Creation before sin. It’s not a different Sabbath according to God Exo 20:8-11 Gen 2:1-3.
Seriously? That's your argument, that God said to "remember" something so it had to be remembering God's Creation Sabbath? ;)

Another version might be, "Don't forget to keep your Sabbaths" with no reference whatsoever to God's Creation Sabbath! Israel was to "keep in mind" the need to always observe the Sabbath every week. Since it was a repeat observance there was need to remember it every week.
Jesus who is God speaks of this same reference when He said the Sabbath was made for man. Man was made at Creation on the sixth day Gen 1:26 before the first Sabbath Gen 2:1-3 Exo 20:11 so way before there was a Jew.
Again, your text does not say what you are claiming it says. Jesus said he was Lord of the Sabbath, and indicated that Man was not created for Sabbath Law. But Jesus was speaking, I think, of Sabbath Law--not God's Creation Sabbath!

Just because Jesus was speaking of Man's creation does not mean he was speaking of the Creation Sabbath! He was speaking of the creation of Man *before* there was ever any Sabbath Law for Israel. And that Sabbath Law was very different from God's Creation Sabbath, as I've pointed out before.

I'll give you the differences again.
1) God's Creation Sabbath was a kind of celebration of a completed product--the Creation. This Sabbath did not need to be repeated and could not be invalidated.
2) Sabbath Law was for Israel long after the creation of Man. And it had to be repeated, indicating its usefulness was temporary and could as such be invalidated until the product was completed. But inasmuch as it was alwasy repeated, the product being celebrated was never actually completed, except in part.
The Greek word Jesus used means mankind the Hebrew word means Adam. My apologies if I believe God’s personally written and spoken Testimony Exo 31:18 over opinions of man. We are told not to do this exact thing Isa8:20. Why God said the Sabbath is His commandment way before it was codified at Mt Sinai. When the God of the Universe reveals His Laws Exo 20:6 Exo 20:1-17 Deut 4:13 , not mans laws His laws that He wrote, He spoke, not man, that is under His mercy seat Exo 25:21 and in heaven Rev 11:19 Rev 15:5 why do we not believe Him. How do we have faith in God but not believe what He says. He even spelled it out for us so we will have no excuses. You cannot have the law that describes what sin is be the same law that was given, after breaking that law.

I said this before why I am going to move on, it’s impossible to try to reason when one thinks their opinions are as equal to God’s Word
It's too bad you have to end your arguments with an insult. I have already told you I do not think my opinions are equal to God's Word.

But I've explained to you, and you know this, that everybody here tries to properly interpret God's Word. That is not an effort to make "their word equal to God's Word," but actually an honest effort to decipher what God's Word is truly saying. Shame on you for insulting others you disagree with or who disagree with you.
Take care.
Really?

Not true.

EX 20:11 quotes the Sabbath at Creation Gen 2:2-3 stating that this is the origin.
Mark 2:27 "Sabbath MADE for mankind not mankind made for the Sabbath" j--k speaks of the "making" of both in Gen 1-2
Jesus was speaking in Mark 2.27 not of the creation of God's Creation Sabbath but of the creation of Sabbath Law for Israel. Obviously, the Creation Sabbath was not itself a creation! It was God's rest after creation.

But God created a Sabbath Law for Israel at Horeb. This has nothing to do with the original Creation of the World.
Is 66:23 Sabbath for ALL MANKIND (from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all mankind come before Me to worship) for all eternity after the cross in the New Heavens and New Earth
I explained this elsewhere. Prophets in the OT used OT language to describe future NT realities. And that's because while Israel was still under the Law they dared not use language indicating it was no longer valid for their time.

For example, when describing the future hope of Israel in the Kingdom of God Ezekiel described a Temple as if it depicted proper Temple worship in a future NT Dispensation. But in reality, the Temple was just a vision of something heavenly, the earthly Temple being used symbolically to portray something different in the future. The vision, however, was to instruct the Israel of Ezekiel's day, who were still under the Law and could understand things only if given in OT language.

It is the same thing when Isaiah refers to Sabbaths in Isa 66.23. He is really talking about a time when the world will acknowledge God from week to week. But he used religious terms applicable to Israel's worship in his own day, so that Israel would maintain in their time proper reverence for Sabbath observance.

I think you argue all this not from the Bible alone, but with respect for something like 7th Day Adventism? Paul clearly denies any need to observe religious days. And it was practiced by the apostles only because they were Jews who were attempting to reach out to Jews in their cultural terms.

Jesus observed the Sabbath during his earthly ministry because at that time the Law was still in effect. But the Law was preparatory for the New Covenant instituted at the cross where the veil was rent.

Sabbath Law is not immortal and eternal, but rather, part of the Law of Moses. We follow Christ alone today, and fulfill laws only with respect to him.

And he had no need to live under the "Law of Sin and Death," ie the Mosaic Law. He had no need to reverence the Sabbath Day, and no need to have his sins atoned for--he had no sin.

And we should live today as though we don't need our sins atoned for anymore--that was finished at the cross. We can dispense with Sabbath observance, according to Paul.

Scripture must be viewed in the light of all Scripture (Jn 6:65, 37, 39).

Jn 6:65 - No one can come to me unless the Father enables him.
Yes, God draws and enables us, not the other way around. That's ancient church teaching.
Jn 6:37 - All that the Father gives me will come to me (all do not come because all are not given to him).
No doubt that the elect are the elect-and they will come-and persevere.
Jn 6:39 - I shall lose none of all that he has given me.
Yes, whoever they may be. God knows with perfect certainty while man may think they're His, but are not.

Thank you for actually reading my post before responding this time, I very much appreciate it.

OK, so lets look at the verse you use to support the religious philosophy that a common man that sinned, was required by God's LAW, to take a goat to the Levite Priest, to provide for the remission of his sins the "FIRST TIME" Moses went up on the mount.

First, God made His Offer of a Covenant to the people, same as He did Abraham some 430 years earlier.

Ex. 19: 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, "if ye will obey" my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, "then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me" above all people: for all the earth is mine:

6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, "and an holy nation". These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, "and laid before their faces" all these words which the LORD commanded him.

8 And "all the people" answered together, and said, "All that the LORD hath spoken "we will do". And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

After this, in chapter 20, God gave the People His 10 Commandments.

You will notice, if you are interested in what is actually written, that there is NO WHERE in this agreement between God and the people, where THIS Law was given to them "Because of Transgressions". So according to what God actually teaches, these Laws were not "ADDED" because of Transgressions at all. There was a LAW "ADDED", but as anyone can clearly see, it wasn't the 10 Commandments, it wasn't Passover, it wasn't God's Sabbath. It's right there before your own eyes.

So what does the verse you referenced actually say?

Ex. 24: 1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. 2 And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. 3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD hath said will we do". 4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. 6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. 7 And he took the book of the covenant, and "read in the audience of the people": "and they said", All that the LORD hath said "will we do", and be obedient.

8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold "the blood of the covenant", which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

Where does God or Moses require that a man bring a goat to a Levite Priest for the remission of his sins? Please show me in the verses you referenced? Remember, the "LAW" Paul is speaking to that was "ADDED", wasn't ADDED until 430 years after Abraham.

Men have offered peace offerings and burnt offerings to God since the beginning. "And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:"

Gen. 4: 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and "offered" burnt offerings on the altar.

Gen. 22: 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and "offered" him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Ex. 10: 24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you. 25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.

So MS, just look at all the lies and deceptions that you and I have been influenced by that are exposed in just these few verses.

Exposed Lie #1. The Entire Law that God gave to Moses was "ADDED" "Because of Transgressions".

As you can see by accepting the Word's of God in your own Bible, this is a false teaching that this world's religions have promoted to both of us since our youth, and long before that.

Exposed Lie #2. The "LAW" Commanding a common man to bring a goat to a Levite Priest in order to provide for the forgiveness of his sins, was Commanded by God to Israel, before Israel broke the Covenant, "Ratified in Blood" the First Time Moses went up to God.

As you can see, there were no Commandment of God "Commanding" a common man to sacrifice animals for his sins anywhere before Israel broke the Covenant they had made with God.

Exposed lie #4. The practice of free will sacrifices and burnt offerings to God existed long before even Abraham was born, and were part a true believers honor towards God before Moses even Left Egypt. These are symbolic of the Glory, honor and respect true believers show to God through their obedient works. These were not part of the "LAW" Paul spoke to that were not "ADDED" until 430 years after Abraham.

If men could just turn away from the internet preachers, and place their trust in God, or as Paul teaches, "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members (Eyes, hands, feet,) as instruments of righteousness unto God.

If only you and I could engage in honest discussion and answer each others questions in search of God's Righteousness, there is so much influence from the "course of this world" that can be exposed, just as the 4 deceptions we have already exposed.

I asked you once to answer me, "Why did God tell Moses to get out of His way so HE could wipe Israel out?" I would also ask, since you are on this forum preaching to me, "Why did Moses have to go up to God a 2nd time?" Wasn't the "covenant" God made with them already established?

Again, if a man would turn away from this world's religious system, including the religious websites, and place their trust in God, you will find that Israel "Broke the Covenant". It was gone, Israel had become like Sodom, and God was ready to wipe them out.

But Moses interjected on their behalf, and went up for them a 2nd Time to secure "another Covenant", which still included the 10 Commandments and many of God's eternal judgments, statutes and Laws that Noah and Abraham knew, that were given the first time, just like on the First Covenant. But on the 2nd Time Moses went up, God "ADDED" Laws, because of the great transgression, concerning sacrifices and burnt offerings required by the individual for sin.
Not sure what you mean here, but animal sacrifices for sin go way back before the Torah became The Law.

1. Genesis 3:21 – God clothing Adam and Eve

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

Meaning:
This is not explicitly called a sacrifice, but the implication is that an animal was slain to cover their shame and nakedness — a symbolic picture of atonement and covering for sin (compare “atonement” = kaphar, “to cover”).
However, this is God’s act, not a commanded sacrifice by humans.

2. Genesis 4:3–5 – Cain and Abel’s offerings

“And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.”

Meaning:
This is the first recorded animal offering by a human.
While the text doesn’t explicitly say it was for sin, Hebrews 11:4 gives commentary:

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous…”

This suggests Abel’s sacrifice was accepted because of faith in God’s provision for sin — a substitutionary offering, prefiguring later sin offerings.

Still, no law or priesthood existed here; it’s voluntary worship, not an atonement system.

3. Genesis 8:20–21 – Noah’s burnt offerings after the Flood

“And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.”

Meaning:
Burnt offerings (olah) were acts of devotion and thanksgiving.
Verse 21 says, “The Lord smelled a sweet savour,” and in response, promised never again to curse the ground.
This shows divine acceptance, but again, it’s not explicitly a sin offering for atonement — more a dedication or thanksgiving offering.

4. Genesis 15:9–10 – Abram’s covenant sacrifice

“Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old…”

Meaning:
These animals were cut in two as part of the covenant ceremony between God and Abram.
This was not for sin, but to ratify God’s covenant promise to give Abram descendants and land.

5. Genesis 22:13 – Abraham and Isaac

“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket… and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”

Meaning:
This was a substitutionary sacrifice — the ram died in place of Isaac.
It foreshadows substitutionary atonement (Christ, the true Lamb of God), but it was not a sin offering under law — it was an act of obedience and faith.

6. Exodus 10:25 – Moses before the Exodus

“And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.”

Meaning:
Before Sinai, Moses acknowledges that sacrifices were part of Hebrew worship, but still, no system for sin atonement or priesthood yet existed.
These were likely peace or burnt offerings, expressing devotion to God, not Levitical sin offerings.

7. Job 1:5; 42:8 – Job’s burnt offerings

“And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them… and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.

“Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering…”

Meaning:
These are the clearest examples before Moses of animal sacrifices being used in relation to sin.
But notice:

  • There’s still no written command or priesthood; Job acts as his family’s priest.
  • God accepts the offerings (Job 42:9).

This shows a principle of substitutionary atonement known by the patriarchs, but not yet codified in the Mosaic Law.
