CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another example of a false narrative. There has been no consolidation of power in the executive. The executive is still in charge of the executive. The courts are still functioning and Congress is still the legislative branch.
The fact that some may not like what the executive branch is doing doesn't mean that its taken over the other branches functions.

Hmmm... the protests are still protesting things that aren't happening, rendering them moot. And the fact that rhey are still going to be able to do them, is proof of that, so I don't know. I think I've been clear as well and whatever your claim is, is also moot.

Not that it will do them any good. Protesters in Oregon are taunting ICE agents with donuts and are dressing up in inflatable frog suits and Trump wants to call out the army to stop them.

Thats free speech as much as calling Republicans Nazis and racists is. I actually don't recall the government calling the democratic party a terrorist organization. When did that happen?
Of course that ANTIFA wil be there and the pro-Hamas crowd would be tgere and would cause trouble is concern that is legit considering the actions shown during previous and current actions by those groups. And the facts are they primarily supported by the democrats and vote Democrat. Just like neo-nazis primarily vote republican. Calling tgat out isn't in anyway authoritarian on either side.
Thats why I said I hope the No Kings protests stay as peaceful this time and they dont suffer infiltration by these groups who could stir up trouble with their paid protestors.
It is only wise to prepare for trouble rather than not. It would be blatantly stupid not to plan for contingencies in light of what has happened.
If all is peaceful, great! If not, its better to be ready rather than trying to scramble at the last second if things go south.
I honestly don't expect them to myself. But I also understand the concerns.

Ignoring the violent and aggressive stuff and just focusing on the non-violent stuff is not a good tactic. I expect better from you.
I will say that the Portland police have stepped up and helped clear out some of the bad stuff. Happy to see that. Hopefully them being more involved will help calm things down.

He got his due process when the court found him to be deportable. The government just deported him to the wrong place by mistake. If he had been deported somewhere else it wouldnt have been an issue.

No it hasn't happened the way you claim. They were detained because they were with illegals when a legal raid occurred. The government isnt wandering around and just randomly grabbing brown people. Legal operations occur and if you happen to be with with illegals then you might get snatched up. Its no different than if you happen to be with drug dealers when a legal raid occurs, but you arent actually involved with them. You would get picked up and it would get sorted out.

Tgey absolutely are involved in domestic terrorism. When you are ramming agents vehicles that's a deadly force issue. When you are sounding and attacking agents thats seditious insurrection. And when Democrats defend their actions they are siding with them. We have Democrats on this board who have done so

Attacking the buildings they are in, thats domestic terrorism. Its not peaceful protest. And much of this is being fomented by organizations who pay people to agitate to create these things.
You may not like the laws. But they have been in place for a very long time and SCOTUS has ruled them constitutional. If you dont like them you may peacefully protest them and petition the government to change them. But that's not what has occurred in Chicago and Portland and other places around the country.
