To have something to aim for? If you say "We want to improve this metric by 30%" but you only manage to improve by 25%, that's still an improvement.I suppose failure is an option, but then what's the point of setting goals?
I don't think people without pink hair would consider that an improvement. To have something to aim for? If you say "We want to improve this metric by 30%" but you only manage to improve by 25%, that's still an improvement.
The idea that failure is not an option sets up some pretty bad scenarios. Like the one that you described.
IMO, it will be necessary until the Boomer Generation--which was the last generation to directly experience the effects both pro and con of Jim Crow--is in the grave.Thank you for using the past tense - it was necessary.
Different quotas at different points. The person who blurred the difference was the person Kirk was talking with. I admit I did the same. I wasn't thinking anyone would get pedantic about it. But the bottom line is they both want to fill quotas.
Except when it came time to defend America. "Oh, my bone spurs! The pain! The pain!"Trump loves America
Turns out, they were better fighter pilots than your average white guy...Why would your average black guy be a better basketball player than your average white guy?
If they were that good, then why aren't they still alive?Turns out, they were better fighter pilots than your average white guy...

Since the issue under discussion is black pilots, then pointing out how good black pilots have been is certainly more relevant that pointing out how good black basketball players have been. And what does that have to do with the tea in China?
Who said black pilots weren't good?Since the issue under discussion is black pilots, then pointing out how good black pilots have been is certainly more relevant that pointing out how good black basketball players have been.
Texas must have frozen over.View attachment 370296
Satire aside...sounds like Ted Cruz had some rather harsh words for the FCC Chair over this matter...

Ted Cruz compares FCC chair to mafia boss over his Kimmel warning
Cruz said FCC chair Brendan Carr sounded like a mafia boss when he threatened ABC over Jimmy Kimmel's comments on Charlie Kirk.www.newsweek.com
While I'm not a huge Ted Cruz fan...he's been in the game long enough to know exactly how this is going to play out if the precedent is set that the FCC has this kind of leverage.Texas must have frozen over.
MAGA does not plan ever to be put out of power, so they're not worried about that. While I'm not a huge Ted Cruz fan...he's been in the game long enough to know exactly how this is going to play out if the precedent is set that the FCC has this kind of leverage.
If the precedent is set that the FCC head can silence particular voices, that's a losing game for the Republicans simply based on the fact that in the TV media landscape, the Democrats have the numbers in their favor to win a battle of attrition.
The FCC chair could dedicate a task for trying to find 3 shows per week with left-leaning themes to pressure off the air for next two years, and the Democrats would still have the lead by a wide margin.
All a Democratic appointed FCC chair would have to do is take 2 or 3 Fox News shows off the air and nix reruns of 7th Heaven and it's game over for the Republicans.
Why would your average black guy be a better basketball player than your average white guy?
They're not. White guys are obviously so much better because there's so many more playing it than black guys. Oh, wait. I guess you mean in the US. Which is just the opposite. So, let me see. Then I guess that Australian white guys are better than your average US white guy. Isn't that odd...Why would your average black guy be a better basketball player than your average white guy?
Except they can't, because Fox News is a cable channel, whereas ABC is broadcast. The FCC has a lot more authority in regards to regulating content on broadcast channels than it does cable channels. All a Democratic appointed FCC chair would have to do is take 2 or 3 Fox News shows off the air and nix reruns of 7th Heaven and it's game over for the Republicans.
Cruz must be looking at the issue more clearly.MAGA does not plan ever to be put out of power, so they're not worried about that.
For now...Except they can't, because Fox News is a cable channel, whereas ABC is broadcast. The FCC has a lot more authority in regards to regulating content on broadcast channels than it does cable channels.
I guess I could agree, but there is such a thing as the law of averages, which isn't an actual law, but is still a thing.Who says they are? Just because there are alot of black pro basketball players tells us little about what the average black guy can or can't do when it comes to basketball.
Every sport can be cheap to play. You don't need regulation sizes or professional equipment to pick up the basics of a game. Kids play hockey on residential streets.Basketball is a cheap sport to play, especially in urban areas that don't have alot of space available for other athletic opportunities. That's not a coincidence, that's by design. And being a good basketball player is a path to getting a college education, by playing for a college team, you might even get a scholarship- so there's alot of incentive to play basketball well, possibly getting into college even if you don't have the money by other means. None of that has anything to do with the ability to fly an airplane.
He never said black pilots were sus. He said DEI is sus.Kirk's comments about black pilots being sus were the kind of stupid racism that shows that Kirk had an inherently low opinion of black people. You don't get anywhere near an airplane if you're incompetent, it just doesn't work that way.
