  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You have a problem with people donating to Turning Point USA in memorial of Charlie Kirk?

I have a problem with people donating to TPUSA for any reason, though what your article is about appears to be fund raisers for his family and for memorials. I don't have a problem with that per se, but it does make me raise an eyebrow.

I feel for his family; genuinely. But they are very rich. He had to have been worth tens of millions of dollars and, while he may not be around to generate new revenue, his family still owns whatever share he had of his media and political empire. They're set for life.

I prefer it went to poor kids issues. But I guess it won't.

Turning Point USA is a multi million dollar organization. That doesn't mean that Charlie Kirk himself was a millionaire.

His mansion in Scottsdale was worth 4.7 million dollars, and he owned a Florida vacation home worth $887,000.

Like you said earlier, his organization is backed by rich and powerful donors.

There is a lot of money on the table if you decide to be a mouthpiece for right wing talking points. Which is why the right wing ecosphere is populated by failed screenwriters and comedians who couldn't make it anywhere else or who are just shameless grifters. See Steven Crowder, Tim Pool, Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, Benny Johnson, etc. With the exception of Shapiro who does seem to possess some intelligence they're all useful idiots. Finding out that there is dark money flowing to them to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode was the least surprising thing this year. Even if they would parrot Russian propaganda for absolutely free anyway.

There was a story about some left wing commentators recently getting into some dark money funding and it turned out the max cap was something like $8000 per month. How on brand for the democrats to be pathetic in that regard as well. Compare that to what the right wing commentators are pulling in. They are all swimming in money.

Seems like his net worth was somewhere around 12 million, which I think is reasonable for a media personality with a large following and who published multiple successful books.

Do a simple search on who paid for Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA. It was all billionaires, most of them ardent climate deniers, and dark money donors. Charlie Kirk wasn't some genius pushing his own ideas on campus, he was a political provocateur paid to prey on 20 year old college kids naivite, to produce a distracting spectacle and feel the algorithmic loop, monetized by some of the same network of people that are now friends and donors to the current White House. So of course, Trump is going to blame the Left. It's part of the kayfabe.

This is the truth about Charlie Kirk that nobody in the mainstream media is talking about. Because it doesn't feed the algorithmic loop, and doesn't fit into respectability politics of today. But it does show how hollowed out our cultural imagination has become.
Spin at its best. With information now available it is absolutely clear which side of the political spectrum this confused killer was influenced by. It is also clear by numerous joyful social media statements who gained comfort in the the death of Charlie Kirk. This sadly is the state of many in our nation. It is a soulless exercise to find joy in the death of another human being but that is where many are in the this upside down world.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Oh, it's clear, huh? Tell me, how do you know whether he was far left or a groyper? Hmm? Both groups have long had problems with Kirk and attempted to disrupt his events. The groypers even waged a "Groyper War" against TPUSA in 2019.

These links are all from before Kirk's murder, so they're not attempts to redirect blame:

Yes it is clear! Ther is no evidence Kirk’s murder was part of any so called “far right “ group. If you have it post it. One of the most relevant conservative voices murdered by a deluded young man calling him a fascist leaves little question as to who he had been listening to. You do the math here, it’s not a hard equation to solve. Just look at the many vile posts and statements from one side of the isle. We all know which one .

There’s at least as much evidence that he was a groyper as there is that he was far left, which is to say, there’s not much conclusive evidence for either. The Groypers had a long-running feud with Kirk and TPUSA. Robinson’s use of meme inscriptions and his one-time Halloween costume of Pepe the Frog suggest that he was, at a minimum, familiar with that subculture.

Time will tell what his motive was, but anybody claiming surety now is getting very very far ahead of themselves.

Well many on one side of the political spectrum seems to have taken the mantle in support of his actions and they are not of the group you are using as a diversion. That is of course my opinion.

Given Turning Point USA's goals and actions, it seems they were one of the main actors standing in the way of political opponents and parties that were harming and exploiting the public to much more sinister ends.

What could be more sinister that obfuscation of the truth? Distracting people from their material circumstances and pressing environmental concerns with largely symbolic culture war mumbo-jumbo isn't benign, and it isn't guiltless as far as serious Christian ethics goes.

Reactions don’t necessarily tell us anything about initial motives. Like how in the Evergreen high shooting, the right hasn’t reacted much at all, despite the fact that we know the shooter was driven by far right neo-nazi ideology.

I see that you think that honoring Charlie Kirk and his family is a political thing to do.

It is.

There's a difference between mourning a man's death, and canonizing him through political and religious hagiography. Not everybody that dies an untimely death for a cause is automatically virtuous or holy.

This is a sober truth, but Jesus' words weren't comforting to the zealots of his day, either. "Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish" wasn't meant to score political points or be easy to hear (especially to an audience far more oppressed than today's white Evangelicals ever could be), it's meant to make people soberly reflect on our responsibilities in life.

Some sources now reporting Charlie Kirk’s killer was living with a transgender person. Could be that this may have at least been a factor in the motive. Time will tell. The truth will come out .

Regardless. The transgender person has nothing to do with it. He/she is not responsible for Kirk’s murder.

My opinion only

...just a day after her husband was killed. Is she for real? Go be with your children and family. The rest of the world can wait....

And now this text just landed in my inbox....

The evildoers who took Charlie's life have NO idea what they have done.

If they thought my husband's mission was powerful before... They have NO idea what they have just UNLEASHED. Not just across this country... But in me.

They have no idea the fire they've lit inside this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battlecry. The movement my husband built will not die. I refuse to let that happen.

It will grow: Stronger. Bolder. Louder. Greater than ever. I want you to hear what Charlie meant to me. And I want you to hear what comes next: https://tpusa.co/A9wo

-Erika Kirk

Stop to stop

There was just one "evildoer"....
