I know plenty of people who I would consider left, but normal.

Reasonable people can disagree about tax policy, immigration law, and drug policy.

I guess when you said "left" you meant "liberals"? Many years ago I came to realize those words are nearly antonymous, and have been since the New Left of the 1960's.

I said “hated”, not “approved of the killing.” Yes, I think there were large segments across the spectrum that hated the ceo of a large, stingey health insurance company.

From what I've read so far the engravings, markings on the casings were mostly anti-fascists stuff such as "Hey fascist! Catch!" and “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao,” which appeared to reference an Italian anti-fascist song.
