  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Charlie Kirk understood the true value of life

I write this from my daily commuter train. I’m on my way home. My wife is making dinner. My 1-year-old daughter is just learning to say “Daddy,” and hopefully, she’ll make an attempt to do so when I come through the door.

Charlie Kirk’s daughter, not so much older than my own, will not have that opportunity tonight. At the moment, I am thinking about that girl and her family. I did not know Charlie. But like most of us in the conservative movement, I knew and appreciated his work as the co-founder and public face of Turning Point USA. With his campus activism, his goal was always to challenge orthodoxy and to inspire an interest in the permanent things.

His death is that. Permanent. We have lost Charlie and, in this life, we will not get him back. In this moment, death is close. To many of us, it’s an unfamiliar feeling. I believe that what separates modernity from everything that’s come before is that: proximity to death.

Relative to almost all of human history, our jobs are safe. Our diet is healthy. An ambulance is only a call away. A constellation of companies has formed to provide convenient solutions to our every discomfort, inconvenience, and problem. We have more distractions and entertainment than our minds could absorb in a hundred lifetimes.

Pastor Jack Hibbs, a close friend of Charlie Kirk, told Fox News Digital he was in disbelief when he heard the conservative firebrand had been assassinated after having spoken to him just hours earlier.

"My initial thoughts, of course, like everyone else, is what is going on in our country?" Hibbs said. "But then quickly, I think my second thought, which is the prevailing thought, is Charlie was obviously a young man of not only profound intellect, he had a great faith in Jesus."

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday at the kickoff of his "American Comeback Tour" at Utah Valley University. He leaves behind his wife, Erika, and two young children, ages 1 and 3.

Hibbs, pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in Southern California, said Kirk had "a love for the Bible" and the pair "spent the last several years going through the Scriptures together."

Kirk's assassination made him an "American martyr" that will encourage an entire generation of "untold Charlies who will follow in his footsteps," he said.

Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

This verse is a beautiful and comforting statement of faith, often used in memorial services or during times of grieving. Its primary meaning is that the death of a devout follower of God is not insignificant or forgotten. On the contrary, it is seen as valuable and meaningful in God's eyes.

Some key interpretations and insights into this verse are:

* **God's Personal Care:**
It speaks to the deep, personal care God has for His people, even to the very end of their lives. A saint's life and death are not mere coincidences, but are of profound importance to God.

* **Redemption from a Worldly View:**
In a world where death is often viewed as a loss, an end, or a tragedy, this verse presents a divine perspective. It suggests that a saint's death is a triumph, a transition into a new, glorious state.

* **Martyrdom:**
In a historical context, this verse has been a source of great comfort and strength for Christians facing martyrdom. The death of a person who dies for their faith is not a defeat but a victory, and it is precious to God.

* **Assurance of Salvation:**
The verse can also be interpreted as an assurance that God will not allow His saints to die until their life's work is finished, and He will not allow them to be taken before their time. Their death is precious because it marks their entrance into His presence.

I pray for comfort for Charlie's family. What a horrible tragedy.

He has an unpublished book that will still come out late in the year "Stop in the name of God".

ask AI
Charlie Kirk's final book,
Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life, is set for release on December 9, 2025

"Is already a "best seller" as judged by the pre-ordersOn Amazon, “Stop in the Name of God” has already hit number one on the retailer's Christian book charts, as well as its religion and spirituality charts (as of this writing)"

The tragedy is terrible.

In regards to his book, my guess the Sabbath he is referring to is not the biblical one.

Actually, he observed the seventh-day Sabbath.

I found this

HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN - 2 Samuel 1:25
I’m still here in Malaysia meeting with leaders of the church. I was so deeply sorry to wake up and hear about Charlie Kirk's violent death. So young! I was invited to participate in a program with him last year but could not attend because of a scheduling conflict. I understand from a common friend that he watched Amazing Facts programs and was a Sabbath keeper. We will have to meet in the kingdom. Please pray for his wife and family.
