  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,

Just asking for prayer for my mum who is 93. She has a few health issues, more discomfitting than serious, but she had abcess on her neck recently, and had been taking antibiotics for that, and is going to have it seen again at the hospital next week. The other thing is just that she has a bit of fluid retention in her ankles which makes them swell a bit and what seems like a bit of bruising on her leg, but she doesn't remember hitting it, so were are just hoping that improves.

We are grateful for the help she is getting and the medication she has. I try to encourage her with reading some excerpts from christian books.

Gracious Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus,
I pray for healing for dms’ mother, both physically and spiritually, as needed. Help her to either come to faith in the Gospel or continue in her walk with You. Please see to it that the abcess clears up and that she is given sufficient treatment for her ankles.
In Christ’s Name,
Amen

Whenever someone says they’re going to take antibiotics, well I know that doctors don’t always take time to tell them they will also need probiotics. Some yogurts oe Kiefer have them.

I hope she gets any that she needs, and I pray she will be fine.

She has to go to the hospital tomorrow. Her leg which had a patch which was quite "bloodshot", seemed a bit better the other day. She is very grateful to know people are praying for her.

I got her some yoghurts as suggested.

Thanks again, she's had her leg looked at by the nurse and a new dressing put on. She seems in fairly good spirits. However she is having a few trips round different hospitals for what to me is a minor issue. First she went to the Dr. a couple of weeks ago cause this boil or abscess which she had for bit had begun to discharge a little under the skin. The Dr. didn't want to do anything with it cause it was on her neck, so she had to go to A & E. They drained it. Then refered her to another hospital (which was further away). My sister had to take her there yesterday, and they just looked at it again, and then refered her to another hospital - the one she went to to have it drained over a week ago. That is a trip to the Dr., and three trips to hospitals for what is basically a small boil on her neck!

Its good she got it looked at fairly quickly, but its a lot of travelling to and fro.

I think they are afraid of spreading infection due to her age and condition. Continued prayers for her and all of you. :praying:
