From the birth of the American revolution against those distant, evil British with all their 'conspiracies' against the colonies - Conspiracy Theories have run rife in the American consciousness. The fact that the FBI bungled their coverage and investigation into the JFK assassination - and tried to cover up their own ineptitude - has added to this fervour. It keeps growing.
Trump took it mainstream. "Birthers", pushing the "Big lie", the "Deeps State" and Epstein files, constant lies and FUD about immigrants that are demonstrably, statistically untrue - Trump's malignant narcissism has him lie to his peeps at the drop of a hat. He despises his followers - and thinks they are fools. He isn't racist - so much as species-ist. EVERYBODY is beneath him - from 'friends' to enemies. He can't help it. He has a psychological disorder.
But rather than flee this pusher of tinfoil hat conspiracies, Americans followed him - and loved him for it!
Because when the privileged white start to feel like they are going to be treated as equals - it feels like persecution.
