I am saying that the process of distribution could not be accomlished before it expired.
Do you have any evidence to back up this contention? Could it have been done had the contracts to do so not been cancelled?

President Donald Trump's cuts to the USAID office are projected to result in the deaths of '14 million people,' many of whom are children, according to a recent study published in The Lancet.

Sell it to a pet food manufacturer.
And you know that obtaining and processing the food would be cheaper than their current system, how?

Is it possible that maybe positive results are being achieved in changing the status quo of aid distribution? A report from Fox News indicates that Hamas is being undercut and that leaves them with less weapons and people with more food.

Of course, I am referring to Fox News and probably already some benevolent types are breathing fire and brimstone over that.

Then there are the bean counters who gleefully roll out human deaths based on their own statistics models.

What would you do with tons of food that could not be eaten?
When I see callous, violent people do evil, I don't go out of my way to make excuses for them.

I don't know any of it, just like you don't know that they didn't have any alternative. I do know that burning it would send a message consistant with Trump's foreign aid policy, whereas disposing of it in a less spectacular way would not.

Yes, they could have had they followed the plans made when they bought the food. Instead, the Trump administration allowed the food to just sit in a warehouse. It isn't expired yet. They could even send it around the US to food banks.

It could have been eaten had they sent it as planned, and still could if sent quickly.

Likewise Implicit in the idea of "choice" is that they were not able to do so in compliance with regulations regarding expiration, thereby necessitating the "choice" not to do so.
Choosing to indict without all the facts. . .reveals bias, prejudice and lack of objectivity, necessary for arriving at the truth of a matter.

The revealed bias, prejudice and lack of objectivity here do no service to the discussion.
But they could have sent the food overseas in compliance, but the Trump administration chose not to and to let the food just sit.

Got it. . .don't need facts to form one's conclusions. . .thank God for courts.

Say what? You're arguing that an option impossible to exercise counts as a "choice"? What aninteresting take on the idea of choice: they chose to not do the impossible!

Please add to our store of known facts: they were in charge of distributing food; they decided not to; the food is reaching expiration date; they decide to destroy rather than distribute. The initial choice to cancel the existing contracts to distribute the food, knowing that food expires, was theirs. The choice to not distribute the food as the months passed was also theirs.
And distribution was cost free?

—Or so your sources want you to think.
What sources would those be? If I had any "sources" I would certainly share them, because all I see here is guesses, including mine. But when I see food that was intended for the poor destroyed in that spectacular way I wonder why, and all I see is an act that is consistent (as if anything in the Trump administration can be called consistent) with Trump's foreign policy--no foreign aid for you unless you toe the line, we'd rather burn it. And then I come here and find that whatever the real reason, he has done good thing because it upsets "Liberals." It's lunatic.

Here is an article about it:

It includes this:

To make matters worse, The Atlantic reveals that even more food may soon expire and have to be discarded. Hundreds of thousands of "boxes of emergency food pastes, also already purchased, are currently collecting dust in American warehouses," the publication reports.
This includes about 60,000 metric tons of food already bought by the government that is now "sitting in warehouses across the world." It remains uncertain what will become of most of this food.
President Donald Trump's cuts to the USAID office are projected to result in the deaths of '14 million people,' many of whom are children, according to a recent study published in The Lancet.
Not defending Trump but it does beg the question of when that food was stored and for how long it has been collecting dust. Does anyone know what the shelf life of this food is?

And distribution was cost free?
Are you implying that the value of one child's life, or two children's lives, or the 1.5 million children who would get another week's worth of food would not be worth cost of distribution? If it were your child's life would you not believe that any price was enough?
