Noem was still speaking, not taking questions yet, he interrupted the press conference and intentionally caused a scene.
He was also storming forward at her as far as they could tell. He didnt just stand there screaming. Geesh. Theater..it is not working.

They knew who was.

Senator Alex Padilla said on MSNBC that he thought his removal from a news conference Thursday was “excessive” and “an overreaction.” He had been escorted into the briefing room by federal agents, Padilla said, while he waited for a scheduled meeting with U.S. Northern Command to begin. He stood in the back, listening, until “the political rhetoric got to be too much to take,” he said. “So I spoke up.”
They did not know. He knew what he was doing. It was an act.

ICE has been showing up at people's homes, approaching people on the street, and at their work places without producing an ID, refusing to do so when asked, sometimes in plain clothes and other times in tactical vests that just say "police" with their faces covered. Should those being approached by these people take their word for it when they claim to be ICE agents and be expected not resist when approached by them?
Well, people have long been expected not to resist when someone beating on the door claim to be the police.

I’m a Hispanic legal immigrant and fully agree with this.
I've always thought that illegal immigrants were being unfair to legal ones; they are queue jumping. (I'm not talking about refugees escaping war etc.)

ICE agents detaining people without judicial warrants, failing to provide identification when asked, and not allowing due process are all examples of how they disrespect our Constitution.

Is that better?
How many times have those examples happened as compared to when those examples did NOT happen? How do we give due process to thousands upon thousands of detained illegal immigrants? Thanks to the Biden administration, we literally have multiple millions of illegal immigrants who should not have been allowed into the USA.
ICE agents are humans who are capable of making mistakes. But that doesn't mean that they are disrespecting the Constitution.

She is a joke.

"We are not going away,” We are staying here to liberate this city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

DHS Secretary Noem's comments just before Senator Padilla spoke up.

“I will say this. If this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question, if this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country. We will hold this administration accountable."

I note even the rightwing Gateway Pundit characterizes the senator's crime as 'heckling'.
I'm not really sure he had the opportunity to even start to heckle. But if he did, then heckle away. I'm pretty sure that the people who voted for him wouldn't want him to stand there, mute and shrug his shoulders if they ask 'Why didn't you demand answers?' What could his response have been? 'Gee, it's rude to interrupt?'

No, the he was not. A US Senator was forced the ground and handcuffed like a criminal.
I am sick and tired of people excusing improper and criminal behavior because someone is a Democrat member of Congress. Whether it be pulling a fire alarm, threatening Supreme Court justices, taunting National Guard members, or rushing Kristi, these people should be held accountable. Republicans need to push harder to get rid of our two-tiered system of justice.

It was beyond heckling, he rushed Kristi and the Secret Service did their job.

Being Hispanic does not make someone immune to racial profiling. In a logical sense, the Hispanic community as a whole is not happy with Kristi Noem and DHS right now, so I can imagine that the security detail would see an unidentified Hispanic man as a larger threat than an unidentified white man.
Or an unidentified black man.
Some average joe would not have been in the room in the first place, because the press conference was not open to the public.
A huge building like that has a whole lot of average people working in it. In my experience it's been an employee rather than an outsider who's posed a threat of some kind.

As someone who's protected by Secret Service, he should have known exactly what to expect. Which brings me back to wondering if he was intoxicated. But like you say, it was probably a calculated act.

I'd love to see him being questioned about it by Senator John Kennedy.

He did not rush Noem.
But I understand, that is the narrative you are parroting.
