The German Foreign Office informed the outlet that it was involved in Pohl and Lepere’s case and provided consular support following their experience. Not the norm, but definitely something which happens and should not.
If I was him, I would have scheduled at least a couple of days of paid leave. I know that is exactly what I would have done when I was active duty military.Probably busy not abandoning his post.
Right now, the randos on the internet have a better track record of factual reporting.Legit news source vs. rando on the Internet. Yeah, I think the weight of that goes for the news source.
But of course, one simply cannot recall a single occasion in the annals of human history where our esteemed liberal media establishment has ever leapt with unbridled enthusiasm upon a sensational narrative, only for the tiresome burden of facts to later reveal their utter and complete misapprehension. Take, for instance, the utterly unheard-of episode in 2019, when young Master Nick Sandmann was so scandalously accused of mocking Native Americans at the Lincoln Memorial. Perish the thought! Such a blunder would be wholly inconceivable, given the media’s unblemished record of flawless accuracy and unimpeachable integrity—particularly when reporting on matters pertaining to President Trump, his policies, or the MAGA movement. Truly, how absurd of me to harbour even the faintest shred of skepticism towards our paragons of journalistic virtue.
At least they didn't fall for the story of the pet-eating Haitians. But of course, one simply cannot recall a single occasion in the annals of human history where our esteemed liberal media establishment has ever leapt with unbridled enthusiasm upon a sensational narrative, only for the tiresome burden of facts to later reveal their utter and complete misapprehension. But naturally! This serves as yet another shining example that underscores my argument. Clearly, it would behoove us all to refrain from unquestioningly accepting every unfounded, sensationalist article simply because it conveniently aligns with our favored worldview. At least they didn't fall for the story of the pet-eating Haitians.![]()

She wasn't arrested and wasn't charged with anything. You're making things up.Charges such as obstruction or battery of a law enforcement officer are arrestable offenses and may explain the reason for her arrest.
I believe I have contributed just as much to the conversation as others, including referencing the article shared by the original poster. She wasn't arrested and wasn't charged with anything. You're making things up.
What you have done is to say that this is something that never should have happened. And then spent the rest of the time trying to excuse it, even suggesting that she'd done something to cause her arrest. Which is simply fantasy. She hadn't and she wasn't.I believe I have contributed just as much to the conversation as others, including referencing the article shared by the original poster.
We have been constantly reminded in Australia that that is the case. And a lot of people are cancelling trips because of that. Including me. And it's not just the ESTA for short trips. The last time I went I had a five year visa that was given by the US embassy in Sydney. And there was paperwork to be submitted and a personal interview with an official. But that STILL wouldn't guaranty me entry now.The office also stated that what happened to the girls should serve as a reminder to travelers that having an ESTA — which allows citizens of certain countries to travel to the US without a visa for short stays — does not guarantee entry into the United States. The decision to allow travelers into the US is always left to the discretion of CBP agents.
I would expect that someone as skeptical as you would appreciate the importance of evidence in any discussion. However, as I’ve mentioned before, it sometimes seems that the standard for evidence can be applied inconsistently. When information reflects poorly on Trump or conservatives, it often goes unquestioned, but when it concerns liberals—or especially if it casts Trump in a positive light—people are quick to demand, "Where is the evidence?"What you have done is to say that this is something that never should have happened. And then spent the rest of the time trying to excuse it, even suggesting that she'd done something to cause her arrest. Which is simply fantasy. She hadn't and she wasn't.
Why, when something is so obviously wrong it's always, 'Well that might be, but...' There's no need for a 'but'. If it sounds wrong, if it's shown to be wrong, if you know it's wrong, then just say it for crying out loud.

My position is not the matter under consideration. Yours is. You said that it should never have happened but then try to excuse it. Even making up your own facts.I would expect that someone as skeptical as you would appreciate the importance of evidence in any discussion.
Oh good grief. This is the result of depending on YouTube as fact.DO NOT HAVE TATOOS or TOO MANY CLOTHES!
An Australian woman trying to holiday in Honolulu to meet American husband (serving in US military) is detained for having "too many clothes". (See - this Einstein decided she was planning to overstay her visa! ;-) ) Her tattoos made them wonder if she was in a "gang". Strip searched, cavity searched, then detained overnight without a meal (just because she missed dinnertime), but with murderers, and sent back home to Australia. Over clothes and tattoos. Nope - no fascism here people! Nothing to see! Move along! Move along!
Hint: it was NOT ICE. It was US CustomsYes, you've demonstrated your naive fiath in ICE agents not to abuse their authority.
