This is where she spent the night before being forced to return. It is not passport control, it is FDC, Honolulu:

It is interesting that you posted the picture and not the link to the article. Almost seems like you are trying to gaslight a bit, particularly since that first paragraph of the article states, "a United States federal prison facility in Hawaii which holds male and female prisoners of all security levels prior to or during court proceedings in Hawaii Federal District Court, as well as inmates serving brief sentences. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice."

Interesting how it is described as a "prison" by Wikipedia and that it is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and by the Department of Justice. And perhaps I'm wrong, but you seemed to be attempting to minimize what it was, clearly implying it was only an immigration holding facility (but perhaps I misremember).

I posted the article link yesterday. I was hoping the image would embed without a copy/paste, but it did not. The architecture is very clearly, Post-modern Prison.

The last post seemed to imply that it was just a holding room in passport control. I watched the news story, she was very explicit that she was taken to FDC, Honolulu and that the officer referred to it as a night in "prison".

I'm not sure where the comprehension problem lies -

She detained by Passport Control - NOT Ice - those are two different entities - as shown

She was detained overnight after being denied entry for lying, not being able to answer basic question - like when was she married - four months ago. NOT for her clothes, nor tattoo's.

She was placed in a DETENTION facility - I showed the name - linked the map - NOT a prison

Passport control is a station between the plane and the outside. It is operated by CBP. They question was about *WHERE* she was detained, not by which sub-entity of DHS detained her.

I haven't discussed CBP's claims about why they did it.

And I linked both the article about it and the image of it above. As the article notes, it has been used as a prison for state prisoners kept their under contract, AND (this is the most important part) it is the very same place where federal defendants who are not allowed bail are kept until sentencing. It's only the nastiest and flightiest of federal arrestees that are detained for months and months. Functionally it is "not a prison" in the same sense that the county jail is "not a prison".

Thank you for your opinion. Have a great day.
