DO NOT HAVE TATOOS or TOO MANY CLOTHES!
An Australian woman trying to holiday in Honolulu to meet American husband (serving in US military) is detained for having "too many clothes". (See - this Einstein decided she was planning to overstay her visa! ;-) ) Her tattoos made them wonder if she was in a "gang". Strip searched, cavity searched, then detained overnight without a meal (just because she missed dinnertime), but with murderers, and sent back home to Australia. Over clothes and tattoos. Nope - no fascism here people! Nothing to see! Move along! Move along!

Clearly, this appears to be an issue that should not have happened for that wife. Thankfully, stuff like this is the exception rather than the norm. By the way, I almost forgot to ask. But where was her husband when all that was being done to his wife?

I know, weird right? Who would have thought. I mean, in my 28+ years my command always put me on a government chartered plane and would fly me home so I could cut the grass or find the car keys my wife misplaced.

I would like to hear the full story. I am willing to bet that she did not spend a night in jail because she had too much clothes. But because she refused to comply with simple instructions and lawful orders making things much more difficult than it could have been. Just YouTube any police body cam video involving an entitled woman and you will see what I mean.

The amount of clothes was stated as probable cause for the detention. She was held overnight in prison after being strip searched.

That she refused to comply with simple instructions or lawful orders is pure speculation on your part.

Serves her right for talking back and being all uppity? As she is a former police officer herself, she probably knows all the right buttons to push.

That is her account, but so far, we have not seen any supporting evidence. TSA and airport police routinely detain thousands of people each week for suspicious items or activities, and in most cases, these detentions last only a few hours before the individual is released. Typically, people are not arrested simply for having too many clothes; an arrest usually requires that a crime has been committed. Charges such as obstruction or battery of a law enforcement officer are arrestable offenses and may explain the reason for her arrest. Her testimony is as reliable as a person leaving a 1 star Yelp review at a company she just got fired from.

The fact that she was released supports her claims.

You'd think she would have been charged if that had happened.

Well, we can't say we weren't warned. For years the Right has been telling us that we need to have guns to protect ourselves against government tyranny. We should have listened.
It would be ironic that if the only people that recognize and are willing to fight against a tyrannical government just so happened to be the only ones who pushed for gun control.

If she refused to comply with simple and lawful orders from LEO, she would have been charged and arrested for obstruction. If she fought back or made any attempts to prevent the officer from arresting her, she would be given a resisting arrest charge on top. If the officer was injured in any way, even is she spits on the officer, she will add battery on an LEO to the list of charges. More than likely, if she had remained calm, respectful, and cooperative, there would be a 99% chance she would have been released within a couple hours. If there were actually any threats about prison or deportation, it wasn't because of her clothes. She was probably very agitated and aggressive and the officers were trying to get her to comply. It was by grace the officers did not press charges.

What testimony? Was there a court case?

We still do. I own a gun (several) and wouldn't mind a bit if I had to register and insure it. Altogether though, I feel pretty safe personally. Unidentified armed men in masks and hoodies coming into the kind of neighborhood I live in and hassling people might not get out again.

So when you said, "We should have listened," who were you referring?

To the pro 2A crowd who evidently had a premonition of what was coming. We all just assumed that they were referring to some imaginary threat of left-wing tyranny and stopped paying attention.

You said you owned guns, but then said "we should have listened." By "we" are you referring to liberals in a general sense but not yourself?
