All people need to do is look up "injured and died suddenly news" on Facebook.
Everyday , people telling their horror stories , it's awful.
Forming, or supporting one's views, based upon anecdotal evidence, is a well-established way of being misled.

Using anecdotal evidence as supposed validation for one's position is as authoratative as casting dice.

I knew someone who died of it. His last Facebook post was "getting tested for covid, a little nervous". However, he was basically in some kind of hospice. And according to his FB history he had already been on a ventilator the previous year. So he was in pretty bad shape at the time.
Doh! getting tested and getting vaccinated are 2 entirely different things. Typically testing meant a nasal swab, e.g. an ordinary q tip stuck up your nose.

This sort of report however is not that unusual.

It is not an opinion. Anecdotes are useful for identifying matters of potential interest, especially if they promote questions such as "I wonder why that happened?", "or "How common is that?". But if you extrapolate from one, or a handful, or even hundreds of examples, without rigorously assessing them for accuracy and exhaustively considering alternatives, then their value is greatly diminished and they are very likely to lead you to a fasle conclusion. A more egregious error is using anecdotes to support an existing opinion.

However, I don't expect you to accept any of that. Your well selected graphic tells me you do not wish to hear uncomfortable truths. I wrote the paragraph for readers with an open mind. But I really wish you would join us.

It is a shame that we have to discuss what should be well established truths such as the fact, and it is a fact not an opinion, that anecdotal evidence is highly unreliable. There really is no debate here.

The problem runs in parallel with the lack of critical thinking on the part of many people. I should probably say, almost all people, for only the most exceptional employ critical thinking 100% of the time. I certainly do not, allowing sloppy logic, casual assumptions and the like to creep into my thought processes for unimportant matters, from time to time. But when we are considering lifechanging decisions there is no good excuse not apply scepticism and rigour to the research for that decision.

And we could add cherry picking data, begging the question, stereotyping and a host of other all to common behaviours that together obscure truth and lead us down rabbit holes. But I am drifting off topic.

My dad was alive. He got COVID. Then he died. Is my dad’s death and exaggeration?
I'm sorry about your Dad.
It killed a half dozen people I knew. I don't know anyone who died of influenza.
I'm sorry about the people you knew, who died if it.

A neighbour's colleague died of Covid. Several of us got it but survived. I didn't get it until after vaccination and it wasn't too bad, which I put down to having had the vaccine.

I did look into.it before getting the vaccine but couldn't see any reason not to be vaccinated. I also checked a Christian video, looking at the issue from both moral and medical perspectives. They didn't tell us whether or not to get it, but the information they gave made me think that being vaccinated was the right thing to do. As an elderly person, I was concerned about coming into contact with those who hadn't been vaccinated. I understand though that some people couldn't have it for medical reasons and I felt sorry for them.

I think our goverments did the best they could in an unknown situation, and our health care workers (the NHS, here in the UK) were amazing.

As for the OP's question, I don't know. However it was obvious that the vaccines saved lives, as the number of deaths was lower after the vaccines were rolled out.

I got the initial vaccine and I've gotten every booster to date. I've had covid twice and I'm still here.....no hospitalization, no ventilator. As bad as the covid was, I can well imagine how much worse it would have been if I HADN'T been vaccinated.

You could have died like me!

On the other hand, becoming a 5G transmitter is canceled out by also being magnetic.

What does that even mean?

It's just a few of the things that fringe anti vaxers and conspiracy spreaders were saying about the COVID vaccine.

I never got it. I’m not keen on being a guinea pig for the pharmaceutical industry. Our food is bad enough. You can only gamble so much before it catches up with you. ;-)

An objective analysis of the odds indicates that the riskier gamble was declining vaccination.

I would not apply my circumstances to all and felt it was a personal choice. Neither I nor my immediate family contracted the virus including seniors. We took extensive precautions and didn’t frequent public spaces that might contribute to its spread. Three didn’t get vaccinated including the eldest and everyone’s fine. We used natural remedies and I advised them on their diet which diminished the risks.

I’m not a proponent for unnecessary medication but would seek help if needed. I prefer to allow the body to heal itself and work in tandem with the Lord and the methods shared above. The only thing I’ll take is Tylenol and it’s honestly for convenience sake and I need to let it go.
