I think I’m such a person of habit that somehow every year I subconsciously am like "hey remember that one hobby? ya you should do that again"
Doesn't sound like a bad thing!

My wife and I enjoy traveling, visiting Disney World, and sampling international foods. I like video games and reading.
Nice what's the top 3 favorite dishes you've had? And if you don't mind sharing what types of books and video games do you like?

I feel like my biggest hobby is impulsively grabbing my phone and googling random things or lurking on Facebook :ahah:

But seriously, I’ve been getting into cooking lately. I love successfully cooking tasty meals. I’m getting a lot better at it now. If anyone has a good recipe to share, I’d love to try it!

I also used to paint and draw. I should get back into it.

Sewing/quilting/seamstressing, chess, road biking, listening to music
Nice. I also road biked a lot from 2020 until 2023. Then late 2023 tried to learn inline skating and I've been skating a lot more since. I still rode my bike to the same places but now brought my skates with me so I can do laps on the same places I used to do laps with my bike.

I also took up weight lifting later on after I found out that only doing cycling weakened the bones. Weight lifting and more calcium in my diet to offset the problem.

I took up calisthenics way back in 2018 and that was the best choice for me to build muscle and tendons, apparently. It worked where the weight lifting didn't, along with the swiss cheese omelets.

That was back when I was doing mountain biking. I switched off from mountain biking because, while MTB is interesting in terms of body technique to get over the bumps, the truth is that I just want to go fast on a bike without learning to be a saddle ballet dancer. I also ended up riding my MTB on the road a lot and busted a set of tires, so it was clear what I really wanted to do. I got a road bike early this year and haven't looked back.

Though I do my road biking less for fitness and more for fun.

I also do calisthenics with explosive reps but only for arms, upper body muscles, abs, and hip flexors/quads lifting my whole body with ankle weights. From core muscles down it's one legged and explosive free weights exercises (body weight + free weights).

I think MTB requires more strength due to technical nature of the sport. I never did MTB but navigating the city on skates also involves lots of hopping over kerbs, fallen tree branches, giant potholes, tree roots on sidewalks or jogging paths, going up and down stairs, and going off road sometimes. But most of the time I'm on a hill or flat road just cruising on skates just like I did on my bike.

I do road biking and skating for fitness and fun. Otherwise I wouldn't if I'm not getting any fun out of it because our roads, traffic conditions, and scenery are just terrible!

Hi @Northern Star what language are you currently learning? I love learning language too.

Hi :) Right now I'm not committed to a particular language, but in the recent past I was dabbling in Dutch and Spanish. I plan to try to get back into them soon. I've spent the most time with German, because I studied it the longest in school and I enjoyed that. Languages were usually one of my favorite subjects. I also liked history classes. How about you? :)

I am learning Korean language now and I can speak Bahasa Indonesia. I also like to learn Spanish. It is so fun learning along with the culture.
