Does anyone remember Weekly World News? I used to see them at the grocery store when I was a kid. Bat Boy, etc. That paper had all sorts of crazy conspiracy stories. It was fun though, almost like a comic book.

This is how I view most newspapers we get today, glorified comics, especially the Daily Mail.

What makes me laugh the most is the DM's science section & archaeologists latest finds, if I remember right the last one was a skeleton of a small alien. ^_^

Whatever happened to Bat Boy? Last I heard he was seen working at a car wash.

1. Tens of thousands of people conspired together to fake numerous NASA moon landings. It has been 45 years, and none of them has ever confessed to this conspiracy.
2. There is a vast right wing conspiracy made up of white supremicists, NAZIs, KKK members, and the patriarchy to oppress every non-white and female person in the country. This is despite virtually zero evidence. There is also a vast network of systematic racism everywhere. Despite having elected a black man President - twice. Despite there being thousands of blacks in every level of government, from city councils to the US Congress and Supreme Court. Thirteen percent of Congress is black, surpassing the percentage of blacks in the population (12%). Despite there being almost 2 million black millionaires and 17 black billionaires. Despite there being virtually zero events such as KKK marches, church burnings, and worse acts of racial violence. 53% of NFL players are black. 70% of NBA players are black. Black artists represented 39% of Billboard's top charts between 2012 and 2020. Racism is always wrong. But to suggest to people that there is widespread hate is absurd. These numbers, as well as others, destroy any notion of a massive hatefest in America. It is a theory pushed by ideologies for political purposes. And there is the problem.

BlueAnon

BlueAnon. A set of loosely related left-wing conspiracy theories that suggest Donald Trump is engaged in elaborate plots to capture or maintain control of the United States Government.

Have any of you heard of Predictive Programming? People talk about it occurring on The Simpsons a lot.
I had not heard of that one, but I have heard of the reverse. That is, say, engineers at the cutting edge looking back to the Sci-fi that they grew up on, for inspirations as to design. One that comes to mind is the "communicator" of the original Star Trek series, leading first to the Nokia flip-flop phone and now to "voice-activation". In the cultural sphere, we portray dozens of dystopian futures in media, and sadly one becomes partly true. IIRC Billy Mitchell in 1926 predicted that one day Japan would attack Pearl Harbour early on a Sunday morning. But finally, dear I say it, operators (or activists) see something in media, and start thinking "that could actually work....".

This sort of explains the theory of those that believe in Predictive Programming.

And now we have Nancy Pelosi saying that she and her team are cold blooded reptilians , and so people go digging around and find this vid of Obama swatting a fly and saying this is proof because of his preoccupation with the fly.
